Mariacarla Boscono

August 20, 2005

This is the cover of the Germany version of Amica magazine, July 2005 issue. I got the scan from Blackshine's blogspot. It's not yet known if there is any Mariacarla editorial inside this particular issue or not. The cover, shot by Todd Barry, bears a slight resemblance to the photographer's previous work with Mariacarla, the Faces editorial (10 spring 2003).

Follow this link now for a preview of the Givenchy fall 2005 campaign. The page also has a brief information on Mariacarla's forthcoming editorial appearances. Very impressive indeed.

All of the scans on today's update came from Maya, with the exception to the first two which were scanned by Olivia and then sent to me by Weslley. The first picture is obviously a well-scanned version of the Roberto Cavalli advertisement that was featured here not too long ago. I should make a mention that the girl with hat is actually Nataliya Gotsiy, not Natalia Vodianova as previously mentioned.

The next four pics are all taken from the runway special supplement of Vogue Paris August 2005. We can see Mariacarla on the cover and also on an inside page, at the Jean Paul Gaultier and Alexander McQueen fall 2005 shows respectively. After that, we are treated to some Cannes 2005 snapshots again. On the collage there's a pic of Mariacarla dancing with Margherita Missoni, and finally on the foursome photo we have a pic of Mariacarla with her boyfriend Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld. Vladimir's sister Julia is also pictured here but their mother, Carine Roitfeld (of Vogue Paris fame, of course) is not :)

I almost left out a page from inside this month's issue of L'Officiel Paris. It's another featurette on Riccardo Tisci, but this looks different than what we've seen before. A couple of very nice Mariacarla pics are included there. And lastly, there are some vidcaps for us to check out. Credit goes to Massimo from VideoCelebrity.org who sent 'em to me. Click on the last thumbnail and browse through the page now.

Here are some wallpapers for your desktop. They are taken from the VIP room of www.robertocavalli.com. Indeed, these are the pictures of Roberto Cavalli spring 2001 campaign. The first and the last pics are new to me.

A page of a mag with another pic of Mariacarla at the recent Fausto Sarli alta moda show. A scan by Maya.

This editorial comes as a big suprise to me, because it has nearly been two years since Mariacarla's last editorial for Numéro magazine. If you don't remember, her previous appearance was on Numéro #46 (September 2003). Yes, it's been that long. For some reasons I didn't expect to see her again in the mag, but well, here she is in a brand new editorial from Numéro #65 (July-August 2005), shot by photographer duo Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello.

Every Numéro editorial that Mariacarla did had never failed to deliver, and "Série B" is no exception to that rule. Superb! My special thanks to Guillaume who once again made a great contribution with these scans. Back in March he contributed some older eds from some French mags to the site, as archived here.

From France to Italy. We have one of the new Roberto Cavalli ads, featuring Mariacarla and some other models. This pair of pics came from Italian Vogue July issue, according to Maya who scanned them. Maya also sent me four pics from Fausto Sarli alta moda fall 2005 show. Right after the haute couture fashion week in Paris, Mariacarla went to Rome for the alta moda fashion week, which is yet another couture event of course. The last time she was doing a Roma alta moda show was on the fall 2003 event. She also did one show for Fausto Sarli back then.

"So I'm back, back on the streets... yes I'm back, to find somebody new..." Ah, love that song! :) OK, firstly I'd like to pass along some cute pics that were sent by a friend to me, just a couple of days ago. I was told that it was a Yves Saint Laurent show, but no word about the season. Lack of infos aside, of course we won't have no problem to tell that those funny faces can only belong to Mariacarla and nobody else. Uniqueness is the name of the game here.

The Paris fall 2005 haute couture fashion week is already over since the last weekend. On July 8 Mariacarla catwalked for two designers, Jean Paul Gaultier and Elie Saab, as seen on 2+3 photos above. In the meantime, I have just re-uploaded all the pictures on the Style section for Milan and Paris fall 2005 ready to wear. Those two pages now contain slightly larger pics than before.

Thankfully I've managed to do another update before going back to my hometown tonight. Here are two photos each from the Chanel and Givenchy haute couture fall 2005 shows, both dated July 7. Goodbye for now.

July 7, 2005

Mariacarla is back doing the Paris haute couture shows again, after being absent on the last two couture fashion weeks, the fall 2004 and the spring 2005 ones. The fall 2005 haute couture fashion week is happening in Paris right now, from July 6 to 9, and Mariacarla appeared in these two shows yesterday, Armani Privé (the first two photos) and Valentino (the rest of the photos).

Of course the main reason behind Mariacarla's presence in this event is none other than the Givenchy couture show, which will feature designer Riccardo Tisci for the first time. I haven't seen anything from that show yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. However, most likely I will not be able to get online during this weekend, so the update has to be postponed until sometimes next week. I urge you to keep an eye on this link at Style.com instead, for the latest Mariacarla photos from the event.

In regards of Riccardo Tisci, these are the invitations to his previous two shows in Milan under his own name. The former (left) is the invitation to Tisci's spring 2005 show. Photo: Theo Volpatti (MC's ex); art direction: Macs Iotti and Susanna Cucco @ Sheltergroup. The one in the middle is a scene from the aforementioned show. The latter (right) is the invitation to Tisci's fall 2005 show, called Maria. Photo: Alex Cayley; art direction: Sheltergroup. Check out Style.com's Focus on... Riccardo Tisci New Kid On The Couture Block for more.

I've just found four pics of the i-D June 2005 editorial at selectmodel.com. Two of them are new to me. Anybody got the scans of the entire ed? I'm still searching, by the way. Anyway, we've come to the last pic for today. That's Mariacarla at the backstage of Rocco Barocco fall 2005 show, putting a lipstick on.

July 2, 2005

Maya had just sent me a scan of a page from the last issue of Vanity Fair Italia, containing yet another feature on Riccardo Tisci. Tisci, the new Givenchy designer, will make his debut on the Givenchy haute couture fall 2005 show, this July 7. Will Mariacarla be there? We'll see.

Wes from NataliaVodianova.net informed that both Mariacarla and Natalia are featured in the new Roberto Cavalli campaign, shot by Annie Leibovitz. Expect to see the ads here soon.

This is the new advertisement for the so-called Woman In Rose fragrance by Alessandro Dell'Acqua, as found inside the July 2005 issue of Marie Claire Italia (thanks Maya). Still a breathtaking image, although in fact it's only a retouched version of the last year's ad for the Dell'Acqua perfume.

June 11, 2005

I've decided to take a break due to some personal matters. I have returned now but I can't say that the site will return to its regular updates as well. I'll try to do an update every now and then, whenever the mood is right. For now, let's catch up some news that might have been missed during my absence.

All eyes on Mariacarla! The one and only Mariacarla Boscono showed up on the red carpet at the last Cannes movie festival, on May 20, 2005. Thanks to Maya who brought this picture to my attention. Strangely enough, she found it on an Italian gossip mag called Gente. Maya also informed that Mariacarla had participated at Una Notte A Roma, a special fashion event in Rome on June 2, 2005. She catwalked for Gianfranco Ferré (as seen next to the Cannes pic), Valentino and Versace there.

A few backstage pics, thanks to Maya again. The first two are taken from the June 2005 issue of Vogue Paris, featuring Mariacarla at the backstage of Missoni and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche fall 2005 shows, respectively. The last one is just Mariacarla fooling around with another model, at the Helmut Lang spring 2005 show backstage.

Mariacarla's latest editorial can be found inside the i-D magazine, June 2005 issue. dSquare has three scans of the editorial online, as you can see above. I suppose that what we have here is not the complete editorial, so please e-mail me if any of you can re-scan this editorial, in its entirety of course.

OK, it's the third and final installment of this short series. Photos from the other Paris shows are featured here. Also included is one photo from the Les Girls party, which took place at the Lido on the last day of the Paris fashion week.
