Mariacarla Boscono

Moving on to Milan spring 2004. Of particular note are the three Exté photos. I already have three other photos from this show but they are only showing Mariacarla in a white outfit. Now I have the ones of Mariacarla in a black outfit as well. It should also be noted that the Missoni photos, except the first three, are actually from the retrospective show.

4 photos from Alessandro Dell'Acqua + 3 photos from Exté

5 photos from Alberta Ferretti + 2 photos from Fendi

3 photos from Anna Molinari + 4 photos from Blumarine

7 photos from Cerruti

6 photos from Emilio Pucci

10 photos from La Perla

15 photos from Missoni

4 photos from Roberto Cavalli + 3 photos from Strenesse

4 photos from Versus + 2 photos from Max Mara

It's a perfect timing to realize a plan that I have in mind lately, which is the spring-summer 2004 and fall-winter 2004/2005 runways reissue. These sections have been restored from the original pages and expanded with hundreds of previously unavailable photos of the already existing shows! Instead of uploading the re-updated versions of those pages at a time, I decided to feature the bonus photos little by little in this main page over the course of a week (or less/more, depending on how this plan develops). The noteworthy shows will come with additional liner notes from me. OK, let's just start from New York spring 2004.

8 photos from Carolina Herrera + 3 photos from Diane Von Furstenberg

4 photos from Luca Luca + 2 photos from Marc by Marc Jacobs

8 photos from Matthew Williamson + 3 photos from Narciso Rodriguez

6 photos from Oscar de la Renta

3 photos from Tommy Hilfiger + 3 photos from Zac Posen

Check out some extra photos from Milan spring 2005 fashion week! 8 photos from Byblos show (including 3 backstage photos of a slant-eyed Mariacarla), 13 photos from Rocco Barocco show and 9 photos from Blumarine show.

Besides Versace, Mariacarla is also doing another campaign this season. It's none other than the Fall/Winter 2004 collection of Escada Sport, continuing her previous appearance on the Spring/Summer 2004 collection of the main Escada line. I don't have the scans yet but here are some stuffs that I got from the Escada website, including a set of flash animations detailing the Italian-inspired collection:

Also appearing in this Escada Sport campaign are Michelle Buswell, Dewi Driegen, Liisa Winkler, Missy Rayder and Yasmin Warsame (first picture, left to right). The photographer is quite possibly Steven Meisel, who shot the Escada spring 2004 campaign and also the aforementioned Versace fall 2004 campaign. Visit www.escada.com now for more!

Let's have another preview look at Mariacarla's Vogue Nippon June 2004 editorial, with the three pics that I found on the web out there. The scans are slightly better but however this is still not the complete editorial. Will I ever be able to feature this editorial in its entirety? Only time will tell.

Something from the Models section of Style.com & Vogue's Spring 2005 RTW Wrap-up feature. Mariacarla Boscono on Missoni: "The look is always amazing, beautiful, wearable, elegant, and very happy. But the most important is the family. I love to work with them, because they make me so happy." The photo was shot at the show's backstage. Nice cleavage :)

Lastly, here are some photos taken from Hint Fashion Magazine's collections. The shows are Martine Sitbon spring 2004, Lagerfeld Gallery spring 2004 & fall 2004, Dolce & Gabbana fall 2004, Celine spring 2005 and Hussein Chalayan spring 2005. But the last two photos are coming from different sources. The shows are Valentino spring 2004 and John Galliano spring 2005. Strange expressions, eh?

This may seem like an ordinary runway update at first, but of course we have something more on offer here... some super large pictures for your viewing pleasure! These high resolution images are randomly chosen from various shows, cities and seasons. The details are in the filenames.

Mariacarla at The Young Fellows of The Frick Collection's "Men's Club" evening (February 17, 2004), which was sponsored by Carolina Herrera among others. From left to right on the 2nd picture: Reinaldo Herrera (Carolina's husband), someone unknown to me (does anyone know who's this guy?), Carolina herself and the always magnificent Mariacarla.

Next pic was taken at Carolina Herrera spring 2004 show. Mariacarla Boscono and Julia Stegner get their peepers rimmed in a dreamy blue for Carolina Herrera's show, just like what the page says. Julia is one of the new Pirelli calendar girls, replacing Mariacarla and several other models. Visit The Pirelli Calendar 2005 showcase now! (courtesy of the official site)

On another related note, Mariacarla also catwalked for Carolina Herrera during The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection 2004. Read more about it here and here. There were 24 top models, all dressed in red, designed by 24 top designers. View the photos here.

Last week's issue of TIME Style & Design magazine (November 21, 2004) has a special feature called "How To Have A Good Time", starring Natalia Vodianova in photographs by Ben Watts. The show certainly belongs to Natalia but there are also some guest appearances by her friends, including our very own Mariacarla Boscono on two pictures.

Four more pics from this editorial are included in this page although Mariacarla appears on none of them. I think they're relevant as a follow-up to the Nylon beauty article, where Mariacarla mentioned that Natalia is her best friend. Follow this link now to read another article involving Natalia, Mariacarla and Frankie Rayder, who also appears on the editorial.

Two Quick Time video clips from Milan spring 2004 fashion week have been uploaded to the maria_carla_boscono group. One clip is from the Rocco Barocco show meanwhile the other one is from the Moschino Cheap & Chic show, which features Mariacarla doing a wacky impersonation of Olive Oyl at the end of the show (complete with Olive costume and of course the Popeye song as well). You have to see this, it's utterly hilarious!

For those who don't remember, here is a quote taken from models.com interview with Mariacarla: You know it's when you're in that teenaged period where you feel skinny and ugly and very tall with no boobs and every guy called me Olive Oyl. "Where's Popeye? Where's Popeye!" they'd go. I hated it so much. Hahaha, click here now in case you haven't seen any photos from that Cheap and Chic show.
