I've just completed my work on the Milan spring-summer 2005 runways section. This section is divided into two pages. Step inside and you'll
find new photos from the Alberta Ferretti, Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Anna Molinari, Blumarine, Burberry Prorsum,
D&G, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Gucci, Missoni, Miu Miu, Moschino and Roberto Cavalli
shows.
Similarly, I have also completed the Paris runways section for the same season although several shows are still missing from this page.
There are new photos from the Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Helmut Lang, Lagerfeld Gallery, Rochas,
Valentino and Viktor & Rolf shows inside. The missing ones are Celine, Chanel, Christian Dior, Hermès, Hussein Chalayan, Jean
Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Loewe, Stella McCartney, Yohji Yamamoto and Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche. Most of those shows, except Hermès
and Loewe, are viewable here.
Of course things won't be complete without some backstage photos from the Milan and Paris spring-summer 2005 fashion weeks.
Not too many pics inside, though. Last but not least, I have re-uploaded the FTV videos (including the Models Talk video) for the second
time. These three videos were temporarily unavailable after the closing of my old college's server. They are now stored on two separate
Yahoo Groups, both are accessible through the videos section.

Today we have two essential editorials from Italy, with thanks to Davide for providing the scans. The first editorial is Mariacarla in the
premiere issue of the weekly magazine Vanity Fair Italia, which was launched about one year ago (for the week of October 9, 2003).
Mariacarla's editorial "Notti Da Star" was photographed by Roxanne Lowit at some cinema parties in Venezia. We know what to expect from
Lowit, but this is quite different to her other works due to the selection of the venues. The concept is simple. Fashion meets movie... and
Mariacarla meets those celebrities, whoever they are :) Oh yes, there's an article on Mariacarla in the end of the editorial, which also
means that there's a homework to do for us. I've transcribed this article and the result can be found here.
E-mail me if you can translate the article.
This is the editorial from the March 2004 issue of Vogue Italia. The editorial is either untitled or simply titled "By Helmut
Newton", and featuring Mariacarla as the protagonist. The images were culled from the final photo session done by the legendary photographer
himself, who passed away on January 23 this year.
Helmut also worked with Mariacarla on the Alberta Ferretti spring 2004 campaign. What Mariacarla had to say about working with Helmut
Newton? Read the text in the box below now.
The conversation originally appeared on this old video
from TG5. Thanks to Giorgio for providing both the Italian and English versions.
TG5 also has a new video
but it's currently not available for viewing just like the old one. It has a 30 seconds interview with Mariacarla at the last Milan fashion
week, maybe at Blumarine backstage. The source page is here.
TG5 ...Mariacarla e la bella Natasha, protagoniste degli ultimi scatti di Helmut Newton. Che ricordo hai di quel lavoro?
(...Mariacarla and the nice Natasha, protagonists on the last shots of Helmut Newton. What do you remember about the job?)
(wonderful, a really sweet person, the day after the shots was his birthday, he had turned 83 years old, he invited all of us for a lunch, in a wonderful Monaco restaurant, for an Italian lunch, he was a very kind person, a kind of genius, with a big personality, 83 years old! I'm always the same Mariacarla, obviously I've made some steps ahead of many other people, but when I see my friends, somehow, I'm also a few steps behind, my friends go to the university, they have the driving licence, they have different steps than me, meanwhile I'm still without driving licence, I still haven't started to go to the university, you understand, there will be time for that too, because I'm only 23 years old, but...)

The main Milan & Paris spring-summer 2005 runway sections are still under preparation. As a teaser, I'll let you have a look at two Paris
shows today. Here are 5 photos from the Paco Rabanne show and of course 6 photos from the Sonia Rykiel show (nice risqué
outfit... we love it!). I already gave away five Milan shows on the previous update.
4 backstage photos from some recent shows in Paris. Mariacarla at Stella McCartney show (with make-up artist Pat McGrath), at
Sonia Rykiel show (with her cellular phone) and at Alexander McQueen show.
More backstage photos will be added at a later date, along with the runway ones. Stay tuned.

Ok Carla, règlement de compte à... the long awaited editorial from French revue de modes spring-summer 2004 has finally arrived on my
Mariacarla site. Many thanks to Sara who produced these scans for me. I've been waiting and wanting this for ages, and I'm so glad to have
it here with me now. Was it worth the wait? Yes it was! It's throughoutly excellent from the first picture to the last one, which is
definitely a winner for sure. The western-themed editorial was photographed by Bruno Barbazan, and if I'm not mistaken, it's the first
editorial inside this issue of French.
It's been a tradition for French to have many covers for each issue, and issue number four is no exception as we've got 16 different covers
to hunt down this time. Sara's copy is the one with Heather Marks. The thumbnails of the front and back covers are enclosed inside the mag,
meanwhile the full-size versions of the front covers are compiled on a separate editorial called "en avant...". As usual, all of these
images were photographed by Thierry le Gouès.
The models featured on the covers of French no.4 are: Julia Stegner in Louis Vuitton, Leticia Birkheuer in Helmut Lang, Karolina Kurkova in
Hussein Chalayan, Louise Pedersen in Louis Vuitton, Eugenia Volodina in Moschino, Rianne Ten Haken in Jean Paul Gaultier, Tiiu Kuik in Yves
Saint Laurent, Petra Nemcova in Roberto Cavalli, Daria Werbowy in Alexander McQueen, Hana Soukupova in Junya Watanabe, Elise Crombez in
Roberto Cavalli, Nicole Trunfio in Roland Mouret, Heather Marks in Marni, Mariacarla Boscono in Yohji Yamamoto, Madeleine Bloomberg in
Gucci, Filippa Hamilton-Palmstierna in Andrew GN.
I was going out of town recently so please excuse me for two weeks without any updates. As you should have known, the Paris spring
2005 fashion week is over now. Photos from the Paris shows and also from the preceding shows in Milan can be viewed on the two new
style pages above. Some other Milan shows (Antonio Berardi, Byblos, Gianfranco Ferré, La Perla, Rocco
Barocco) are viewable on the third page. Right now I'm still working on an extensive feature that will include more shows and even more
photos, onstage/offstage.

Finally, a picture from Sanremo Fashion 2004! Mariacarla
won the Model of the Year award there. Scroll down to the September 17 update in case you haven't
read the news yet. And oh my God, Mariacarla looked simply superb with that sexy outfit by Versace!!
The other picture, which features Mariacarla and one of her best friends Erin Wasson, was taken somewhere at the backstage of an unknown
fashion show. Mariacarla was wearing her favorite Peanuts t-shirt... featuring Lucy Van Pelt :D

I also have one backstage photo from the Dsquared2 show. This is my favorite of all Mariacarla's shows on Milan fall 2004 fashion
week, so I include the runway photos from the show as well.
As another bonus, some runway photos from the Dolce & Gabbana fall 2004 show have also been added. A couple of backstage photos from
the show can be viewed earlier on today's update.
For your information, today is the first day of Milan spring 2005 fashion week. According to the schedule, the Milan shows will run from
September 25 to October 3, followed immediately by the Paris shows (October 4-12). Remember, always keep an eye on this page
at STYLE.com for the latest photos of Mariacarla.
The Flair October 2004 article is now available in both Italian and English. Please be forewarned that the translation is not 100%
accurate yet. The result is still very rough and I know many mistakes can be found here and there, so please don't hesitate to e-mail me
if you can re-translate everything properly or at least if you know which parts are incorrect.
Oh yes, Mariacarla shares her beauty secrets in this article... so girls, you've gotta pay attention to what she said there :) All but one
pics on these two pages were shot by Mariacarla herself, who also made some brief comments about them. Yep, she's the 'fotoreporter' in
charge here.

September 24, 2004
OK folks, for this update and the next one we will go behind the scenes to see Mariacarla at the backstage of past seasons fashion weeks.
Today, I have some previously unavailable photos from the spring 2004 shows for you. On top-row there are 7 photos from Moschino
show, meanwhile on bottom-row there are 2 photos from D&G show, 1 funny photo from Max Mara show, 1 photo from Fendi
show and 3 photos from Costume National show. Want more? You better wait till tomorrow.
More photos from the Giles spring 2005 show in London town. Read yesterday's news for more about it.

September 23, 2004
Yesterday I made a promise to feature the backstage photos from the Anna Sui spring-summer 2005 show. Guess what? You don't have to
wait any longer to view them! The photos have arrived today, for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy.
Where was Mariacarla when she celebrated her birthday three days ago? Well, on September 20 Mariacarla was in the UK doing a very rare
appearance on the London runways! She was there catwalking for young designer Giles Deacon's spring 2005 collection, which was only
his second collection actually. I only have two small pics for now.
Although the London fashion week isn't over yet (today's the last day), I'm sure that the Giles show is going to be Mariacarla's one
exclusive appearance in this event. The show also featured fellow DNA models such as Karolina Kurkova and Eugenia Volodina, like Mariacarla
they also made a rare British runway appearance here.
As you should have known, normally London isn't a part of Mariacarla's fashion week schedule. She might have made a runway appearance in
London during the early years of her career, but that is simply beyond the scope of our discussion here. Please note that my reference is to
the latter era of Mariacarla's modeling works, when she already became a full time model (from 2000 onwards).
Aftershow with the Valentino girls! One photo is from the spring 2004 show, meanwhile the other one is from the fall 2004 show. Stick
around for the next updates cos I have more backstage photos from the two seasons I just mentioned.
I've gotta go now, but before that, click here to view the alternate/different scans of Vogue Nippon October
2002 and i-D September 2003 eds and also Mine fall-winter 2003 ads. Speaking of the Japanese Vogue, does anybody still have
the June 2004 issue? There is one editorial with Mariacarla inside, but I still don't have the scans of it yet.

September 22, 2004
OK, let me just continue and finish my last week's plan of featuring the missing shows from Paris. The last page to undergo this treatment
is the spring-summer 2004 haute couture page. Initially the page only contained two shows but the
other shows have now been added. All these photos are archived on that page, except the backstage ones which will be archived elsewhere
within this site. Another exception goes to Yamamoto, because it's actually the fall-winter 2004/2005 pret a porter show.
The newly-added photos are 3 runway photos from Givenchy show, 4 runway photos from Jean Paul Gaultier show, 5 runway photos
from Christian Lacroix show, 2 backstage photos from Valentino show, 4 runway & 3 backstage photos from Yohji Yamamoto
show and 1 runway photo from Emanuel Ungaro show. Of all those pics, my favorite is the close-up picture from Valentino. Immense
gothic beauty!
I've also added some more runway photos from the Anna Sui spring-summer 2005 show. Apparently, it was Mariacarla's own decision to
do this show only when the fashion week took place in New York recently. The backstage photos from the show will follow soon.
