Mariacarla Boscono

June 11, 2004

Two images from Fashion Trend magazine issue 4, featuring Mariacarla at Roberto Cavalli and Byblos fall 2004 shows.

May 18, 2004

These four images have been previously featured but I think they're still worth revisiting because we have much better scans this time (especially the Pirelli one). I got 'em all yesterday at Neroscan.

The 1st scan is Mariacarla's picture for the Pirelli 2004 calendar, the month of March. I've just found out that the name of this image is actually "Cat Lovers". It was reprinted on French Photo mag (December 2003), along with some other pics from the calendar. Click here to get more scans from this issue. Meanwhile the 2nd scan is taken from Max Italia (May 2003), and the 3rd & 4th scans are taken from GQ Italia (March 2004). No further explanation is needed for these.

This picture is a part of an editorial called "Das Ist Die Neue Mode", which appeared on the January 2004 issue of Vogue Deutsch. That ed was photographed by Roxanne Lowit and as expected, it was made of backstage photos from various fashion shows (just like most of Lowit's other works).

What we have here is a photo from the backstage of Alberta Ferretti spring 2004 show, featuring a Romanian (Diana Dondoe), an Australian (Nicole Trunfio), an Italian (Mariacarla Boscono), a Russian (Eugenia Volodina) and an unknown. According to a source, there is one more Mariacarla pic in this ed. It's a backstage photo of Tommy Hilfiger show. The scan is unavailable, though. I also understand that this issue came with a runway supplement featuring Mariacarla on the cover. Unfortunately, we also don't have that item here.

And here is a fall 2004 show that should've been included on the previous update, but didn't make it somehow. Oh, watch that step Mariacarla! :)

May 14, 2004

On the July 22, 2003 update I mentioned a plan to feature more old photos from the fall-winter 2000/2001 and fall-winter 2001/2002 fashion weeks. That plan was more or less cancelled, but today I've added several missing shows from the aforementioned two events. Photos from the Issey Miyake, Nina Ricci and Stephan Janson shows are being added to the former, meanwhile photos from the APC show are being added to the latter.

And here are some of the shows that were not included two weeks ago on the fall-winter 2004/2005 runways and backstage update. Six photos from "The Heart Truth" are not being shown below, click here if you wish to view them.

The Heart Truth (New York, February 6, 2004)

John Varvatos (New York, February 11, 2004)

Moschino Cheap & Chic (Milan, February 28, 2004)

Loewe (Paris, March 4, 2004)

May 11, 2004

Here she goes again... Mariacarla with her 2nd cover for Vogue Deutsch. She previously appeared on the cover of the March 2003 issue, and returned exactly a year after that. This, the March 2004 cover, features our girl in a green dress, photographed by Rankin. To my knowledge, there is no Mariacarla editorial inside this issue. Anyway, I got the scan from The Seventh.

May 1, 2004

As I promised, now you can check out the runways and backstage photos from the fall-winter 2004/2005 fashion weeks in New York, Milan, Paris (February-March 2004). There are 794 photos here, and the total size is 46.8 MB! Huge or what?

It took plenty of time and effort to put this update together. It was quite exhausting indeed and all I need right now is to take a well-deserved break. I hope it won't be too long before I'm back here again. Till next time...

PS: Another couple of those Alberta Ferretti advertisements have been added.

April 24, 2004

It's almost been five months away since the last time I was there... and I'm finally back! Please forgive me for leaving this site with no word at all. There were some problems within the site and I was unable to come up with any news or updates because of this. On top of that, I've been very busy with my life lately. Thankfully, I've managed to get through these hard times and as you can see right now, I've returned with my first-ever update for 2004. Well, the site had actually shown some signs of life earlier this week, but today is the resurrection day! Thanks for being there with me again. Let's just start with some great Mariacarla editorials, shall we? Here they are:

• Two excellent editorials taken from 10 magazine no.8. This fall 2003 issue is also called the Bitch issue. So many thanks to my friend Sara who helped me out with the scans.
• Some breathtaking photos from GQ Italia March 2004. Hot hot hot!!!
• An editorial from Vogue Italia February 2004, featuring Mariacarla and Marija Vujovic. The scans are courtesy of Tom at The Gynocracy.
• I have also added small pics of the "Lady Punk" ed from Vogue Deutsch September 2001, as well as the aforementioned 10 fall 2003 & GQ Italia March 2004 eds.

So far I have only seen Mariacarla on the spring 2004 campaigns of Escada and Alberta Ferretti. We've got a few scans from bwgreyscale and piczilike as usual. If you recognize Mariacarla on any other brand this season, then please let me know too.

On the covers section, there is a cover of spring 2004 trend guidance from Elle Sweden March 2004. It's a runway photo from Viktor & Rolf show. Scan by Sara. Elsewhere there is also a piece of an editorial called Measure by Measure from Dazed & Confused September 2003. It's a backstage photo from Marc by Marc Jacobs show. Scan by Katie.

I've added 5 photos of Hugo Boss show to the New York page, 4 photos of Alexander McQueen show to the Paris page, 12 photos of Elie Saab show and 26 photos of Valentino show to the Paris haute couture page, all of the spring 2004 runways. Where are the fall 2004 photos? Well, they're coming up soon on the next update! In the meantime, you can view the additional pages for Paris haute couture spring-summer 2004 and New York fall-winter 2004/2005.

The Pirelli Calendar 2004 has been out for some time now. I've now added "The Making Of The 2004 Pirelli Calendar" to the videos section. If you are yet to view this 15-minutes movie, then you're still missing out... big time! The movie has some Mariacarla scenes and these are shockingly sexxxy!!! Don't just take my words for it. See and believe.

Speaking of videos, click here or here to watch an interview with Sofia Loren. Mariacarla appears at the end of this video. I honestly don't know what she's talking about though.

Last but not least, I've updated the links page with... hmm, what should I call it? A shameless plug? :) Well, just have a look for yourself. That girl is Davina Veronica Hariadi. She's a beauty from my country, that's for sure, and quite possibly, one of my favorite models ever.

December 8, 2003

I've just got two new scans from Jolie. Thanks mate! The first scan is a cute picture of Mariacarla, photographed by Russ Flatt and Johnny Gembitsky for Pavement magazine. The photo is actually from an anniversary issue (November/December 2003) but it was originally published in issue 45 (February/March 2001). Hopefully this editorial is coming soon in its entirety.

The second scan is taken from the September 2003 issue of Elle Espana (that's Spanish Elle folks). This backstage pic was photographed by Cannonieri & Fortis, at Givenchy fall-winter 2003/2004 show in Paris (March 9, 2003).

Yay! Finally I can feature all those nude Mariacarla images from the L'Oreal Calendar by Aldo and Monica Coppola. They're available as JPG and SWF files for your viewing lust. You can get more views on the L'Oreal calendars and artbooks at Aldo Coppola's homepage.

Mariacarla only appeared twice for the L'Oreal calendars. Her first time was on the 1999/2000 calendar, "No Time". She could be seen on 5 out of 24 photos. Meanwhile her second (and last) time was on the 2001 calendar, simply titled "001" (reprinted on Vogue Italia December 2000). She got three photos there. Photography: Fabrizio Ferri.

I've made a separate page for NAFNAF fall 2003 campaign. Now 8 screen captures and 8 flash animations are included here, in addition to the previously featured images. Check 'em out! I am leaving now...

We've got more scans of the Gianfranco Ferré and Coccapani advertisements from Piczilike (made in Italia, by Andrea). I still haven't figured out who photographed these two campaigns... does anyone know?

November 20, 2003

The images of the long-awaited Pirelli 2004 calendar have been released since early this month, around the last time I updated this site. Photography by Nick Knight. Click here for more of it, and here too if you will.

This time Mariacarla is the March girl and holy fuck, what a raunchy image that is!? LOVE IT! :) Apologies for not featuring this picture earlier. I'll look forward to feature the pic again someday soon, in a better resolution than this of course. Stay stunned, err, tuned!

November 7, 2003

Backstage time! Let's get behind-the-scenes to some Milan and Paris spring-summer 2004 shows, which happened recently from late September to mid October. We also have a few more candid shots of Mariacarla, taken from an article about the next Pirelli calendar. These appears on October 21, 2003 issue of the magazine Specchio (a weekly issue given with the daily news La Stampa). Thanks to Giorgio for his contribution with the two scans.

October 19, 2003

OK, today we have the runway photos from the spring 2004 fashion weeks in Milan (September 27-October 5, 2003) and Paris (October 6-14, 2003). Just follow the two links on your left to view the images.

And now, click on those eyes (or here) to watch a Real video of Mariacarla "waxes prophetic on life after modelling" 1:06. The interview is courtesy of FTVideo. But do you know how to save this streaming video to my computer? E-mail me!

October 16, 2003

Oh, looks like I've been gone away for far too long! Please forgive me for my disappearance. I'm back on track now so let me resume the coverage on the spring-summer 2004 fashion weeks, starting from New York. The backstage page is open now meanwhile the runways section is updated with plenty of detail shots.

I am still working on the Milan and Paris photos. They will surely be featured here as soon as possible. You can view some of them now.

I hadn't mentioned about a very important exhibition called Donna Sotto le Stelle, which took place in Rome on July 16, 2003 in the middle of the Rome High Fashion week. In this annual fashion gala Mariacarla received a special award from Rome's Vice Mayor as "the only Italian top model recognized in the international fashion world". Read more about this old news here.

September 28, 2003

I've added two more versions of the Gianfranco Ferré ads and also two of Mine as well. Scans by Andrea and Sunhwa. More images from the Ferré campaign are viewable at www.gianfrancoferre.com.

September 23, 2003

So here we are in our new home. Don't forget the new address, which is www.mariacarlaboscono.hpg.com.br. Today the New York spring-summer 2004 page is updated with photos from the Behnaz Sarafpour, Chado Ralph Rucci, Matthew Williamson, Roland Mouret, Tommy Hilfiger and Zac Posen shows.

A couple of fall-winter 2003/2004 advertisements have also been added as well. One is a Kors Michael Kors ad and the other one is a Coccapani ad. Thanks to Weslley and Andrea for the scans, respectively.

September 20, 2003

Today is actually September 19, 2003 but I decided to give a shot to the September 20 update instead since I'll be away through out this weekend. September 20, 2003 is a special date that we shouldn't miss. Why? Because it is Mariacarla's 23rd birthday! Stand up and shout... Happy Birthday, Mariacarla!

I initially planned to feature my own scans (for the first time) to celebrate the birthday, but the plan has to be postponed due to several reasons. For now, we'll take a look at what's going on in New York from September 12 to 19. See the first batch of the latest Mariacarla photos from the New York Fashion Week spring-summer 2004, in the two galleries on your left side. Till we meet again.

September 2, 2003

The Mariacarla site is two years old today! Yup, it's the site's second anniversary. My sincere thanks to each one of you for always being there through out the good times and the bad times too.

Unfortunately, I also have to make a not-so-good announcement in this update. Most people don't know that the deal to use the www.mariacarlaboscono.com domain is actually limited for only one year period. The site will eventually expire later this September, ironically just a few days before Mariacarla's birthday.

Is this the end? No no no! The Mariacarla site will continue in its alternate location at www.mariacarlaboscono.hpg.com.br. You can update your links and bookmarks with that URL now, but please note that this won't be the permanent address (due to some shitty experiences that I had with hpG, who deleted my Jeisa site twice). The new address of the Mariacarla Boscono site will be announced here as soon as I've got everything confirmed.

Of course I can't update the site with nothing, so here are some Mariacarla images for you. We have an advertisement of AKRIS and an editorial from i-D September 2003 called "Jump, They Say" (photography by Dusan Reljin), both scanned by Jolie.

We also have the editorial from W September 2003, with thanks to Katie for the scans. This ed, "Castle Queens" features a similar cast to the W March 2003 ed, "Closet Queens" (hey, is it something in the name?). The photographer is the same, Michael Thompson. The other models are Hannelore Knuts, Roos van Bosstraeten and Michelle Valencourt. Mariacarla only appears on five out of twelve photos.

• Mariacarla returns to Vogue Russia. The September 2003 issue comes with a runway supplement for prêt-à-porter fall-winter 2003/2004. The cover of this supplement features not only one, but three backstage photos of Mariacarla from the snowy Chanel show. Pretty cool.

Inside this issue of Russian Vogue, we can also find 2 pages of Gianfranco Ferré ads. One of them is new to the Mariacarla site, therefore Sara scanned it in addition to the supplement cover. It's so damn cute! Take that bag away, please?

• I don't normally like to recommend people to leave my site immediately, but in this case, do so now! Click on over to www.inafnaf.co.kr, where the Korean affiliate of NAFNAF France showcases the latest collection. In the layout you can view most pictures from the fall-winter 2003 campaign. Mariacarla does a great impersonation of Jane Birkin there.

A few of you might ask how to save the animated images on NAFNAF website to your computer. Well, last time we provided some screen captures but now we'll provide the direct links to those flash animations instead. Simply "right-click and save target as" on the followings. The rest is up to you.
MAIN BRAND COORDI MEDIA MODEL ENJOY BOARD SHOP

The site offers some goodies such as wallpapers and calendars (monthly) for us to download. I have choosen the best four for the inclusion here. Also included are the image cuts from the making film. See below.

There are no Mariacarla sightings at www.nafnaf.fr but this site is still worth checking out anyway for its massive giveaways of HQ pics from various NafNaf campaigns in France, featuring Ana Beatriz Barros, Anna Huber et al.

• Feels good to be back! I've got five different versions of the Gianfranco Ferré fall-winter 2003/2004 campaign for you today. The photographer is to be determined later. The first two were scanned from Harper's Bazaar US (August 2003) by Weslley, meanwhile the last three were scanned from Flair and Marie Claire Italia (September 2003) by Andrea. Thanks!

• Wes also added the opening page of Harper's Bazaar Fashion News. The text is about designer Carolina Herrera fall 2003 collections and it's accompanied by a backstage shot from the show, featuring Mariacarla and Liya Kebede... the two Africans? Not really.

• On a surprising note, Mariacarla turns up in yet another new campaign in Korea. It's none other than the fall-winter 2003 campaign of Mine. Here are the two currently available scans, from sunhwa. By now you should remember that Mariacarla previously appeared on Mine fall-winter 2001 ads.
