Mariacarla has just switched her Paris agency from Marilyn into Viva. She is now one of the 'tops' at
Viva Model Management website. You can view her online
composite card there although its accuracy is questionable due to some incorrect data (since when Mariacarla's a blonde!?).
What we've got here is not that faulty thing, but two of the composites that Mariacarla used about six or seven years ago
when she was still represented by Riccardo Gay agency in Milan. As you can see, they contain the pics that we might
never encounter again such as the Lancetti ad and the "Physical Education" ed.
During her stay in Riccardo Gay, Mariacarla won the Premio Moda or Special Fashion Award at the agency's Miss & Mister
1996 competition. These are two photos related to Miss & Mister '96, featuring the young Mariacarla who was only sixteen
at the time. Riccardo Gay was certainly where Mariacarla made her noticeable start. That was prior to Paolo Tomei and long
before Women. Read further history lesson here.
The translation will be inserted in this space soon.
Sorry if I disappoint you with this update. I know you are expecting more (especially after the delay) but this is the best
I can do for now. I am still waiting for plenty of stuffs to arrive, and I even have a plan to scan some of them too. Stay
tuned. I'm leaving you now with the preview of Akris fall-winter 2003/2004 campaign, courtesy of akris.ch.
E-mail me if you can help with the hi-res scans of these!

Mariacarla returns for the fall/winter 2003 campaign of NafNaf, hot on the heels of her successful
spring/summer 2003 campaign. The new ads will be shown exclusively in Korea just like the previous ones. This is another
great addition to Mariacarla's list of fall 2003 campaigns, which include Akris, Coccapani, Gianfranco Ferré and Michael
Kors so far.
An article from a Korean magazine about the making of the NafNaf 2003 f/w campaign can be viewed now. I can't read it, but I
can tell that the venue was Urving Place Gallery in New York and the crew involved were Anne Menke (photographer), Katy
Young (stylist), Andrea (hair) and Aeron (make up). My special thanks to sunhwa
for the scans as usual.
To round things off, I have a double-dose of Mariacarla/Natalia for ya. Scanned by Wes of the Natalia Vodianova Archive.
Both were taken at the backstage of Blumarine spring 2003 show in Milan. Expect more backstage pics soon.

Although Mariacarla isn't doing any of the new Chanel campaigns, she is still modelling for something related to Chanel in
the recent times and it's surprisingly even better than her last Chanel ads. According to Katie
who scanned these images, the pictures are taken from the fold-out item (brochure?) which is obtainable via mail from the
new Chanel boutique at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York. A great discovery! Thanks Katie.

Today we take a trip back to the fall 2000 season as I promised, but not for the runways (that's later!). In this
update we've got something else that also came from around the same time. This edra advertisement was scanned from
Greek Vogue October 2000 by Smaragda. It's slightly different compared to the colorless ad which was featured here
February 17 last year.
Here are seven photos from the popular Dsquared2 show in Milan (February 27, 2003). It was an unique fashion
show, with models dressing up in the Dsquared2 airplane instead of a regular backstage! Mariacarla did appear on the last
pic too, even just for a glimpse. As a side note, this was the only missing show I could find last night when I looked
through thousands of runway pics from the fall 2003 collections. Can you imagine how tired and sleepy I am right now?

The flashback continues as we open a new runways page for the old spring-summer 2000 fashion weeks. All but one show are
newly added. Click now to see the short-haired, yet still funny-looking Mariacarla on Guy Laroche, Issey Miyake,
Jean Muir, Junya Watanabe and Stephan Janson shows. Those shows take us back to early October '99 in
Paris, except the last one which took place in Milan on September 28, 1999. Next stop: fall-winter 2000/2001 and fall-winter
2001/2002.

There goes Mariacarla again with the passionate "La chair de l'orchidée" editorial... and there is nothing you can do
this time to resist her temptation. She's gonna blow you away! Thanks to Katie
for scanning all the images of this Numéro no.44 (June 2003) editorial. Photos by Matthias Vriens.
Another photo from the Fausto Sarli alta moda show has been added. Looks like this was Mariacarla's only
performance during the recent Rome high fashion week, although I might be wrong about that. Confirmation please.
Mariacarla has another fall 2003 campaign out. It's the new advertisement of AKRIS and it's featured in
August issues of some US mags, with Vogue and W being two of them. No scans yet. Help!

The name Theo Volpatti should ring a bell to most of us cos he's none other than the lucky Italian guy that
Mariacarla is in love with! Theo, who is five years older than Mariacarla, comes from Valtellina and now the couple are
living together in their Harlem apartment. Theo himself is a photographer represented by Photographic Management Inc..
His portfolio can be viewed by clicking the link. There you'll find some images that Mariacarla presented exclusively for
her boyfriend, who's indeed a talent to be reckoned with. I even consider the third picture above as a follow-up to the
"Hotel Particulier" intro image (seen on my archives page). You know the reason why! :)
I've just dug up through the firstVIEW archives and found
several old runway photos that are previously unavailable on my site. Check 'em out now!
- 5 photos of Veronique Leroy show in the fall-winter 2000/2001 page
- 5 photos of Akira Isogawa show, 4 photos of Veronique Leroy show, 4 photos of Vivienne Westwood
show and 5 photos of Yuki Torii show in the Paris spring-summer 2001 page
- 3 photos of Sonia Rykiel show in the Paris fall-winter 2001/2002 page
- 4 photos of Jean Colonna show in the Paris spring-summer 2002 page
Mariacarla is coming home for the Alta Moda fashion week that is currently happening in Rome. She appeared
on the Fausto Sarli show last Saturday (July 12) and quite possibly she was also on some other shows as well. It should be
understood that covering this event is not an easy task to do, therefore any information regarding Mariacarla's performances
during these alta moda shows are anticipated. The event will run until tomorrow, that is July 18. In the meantime, three
photos from Fausto Sarli can be viewed on the various fall-winter 2003/2004
page along with one new backstage pic from the previous event in Paris.

Mariacarla really went over the top on her Numéro #44 (June 2003) editorial! If "La chair de l'orchidée"
doesn't leave you breathless, then nothing ever will. The photography, courtesy of Matthias Vriens, is excellent but what
makes this ed so classy is Mariacarla herself. Say what you will, but she's a KILLER!
These scans are perfect but unfortunately the other four pics were omitted. I'm still opening an invitation for anyone who
could re-scan the editorial, in its entirety of course. For now, you can check out the cleaner version of "Time For A
Cigarrette" off Numéro #35 (July-August 2002) which was also recently scanned
by French Box.
Elle Sweden (August 2003) has an 8-pages editorial called "En passion för rött" (a passion for red) which
features various models wearing 'red' at the backstage of various fashion shows, including Anne Vyalitsyna in Chloé, Tetyana
Brazhnyk in Louis Vuitton, Natasha Vojnovic in D&G and this one that Sara scanned for me, Mariacarla Boscono in Cacharel.
Photos by Gauthier Gallet. Although this is not a reprint from another magazine, the same Mariacarla picture is already
online at firstVIEW. I got it for my site too. Just click here.
I've just opened a runway page for Paris haute couture fall-winter 2003/2004. At this point, I only have 32 photos
from the Valentino show (July 9, 2003) and 16 photos from the Elie Saab show (July 10, 2003). More shows,
more photos will be added soon. Oh, click on the far-right pic now. That's Mariacarla the couture girl catwalking with all

A couple of Mariacarla pics taken from the autumn-winter 2002/2003 issue of MM. MM is a promotional magazine
published twice a year by the Max Mara group. These are the pieces of "Season's Glamour", a backstage editorial containing
13 full page pictures of various models shot during the Max Mara fall 2002 fashion show. You can get the remaining scans at
bwgreyscale.
When it comes to MINE, I've always had to thank my Korean buddy Sunhwa.
Yup, that's one more scan of Mine fall-winter 2001/2002 ad with Mariacarla. We're still far from complete, unless the
catalogue is obtained.

The editorial from Vogue Russia November 2001, "Ispugannaya Nimfa" is available for preview at last. However,
this is only half the ed because there are 12 pages in total. Photos by Blaise Reuterswärd. I'm still wanting it as much as
I want the other missing Vogue eds: "Lady Punk" (Vogue Deutsch September 2001), "Lichtspiel" (Vogue Deutsch February 2002)
and "A Glittering Touch" (Vogue Italia June 2002).

The new Coccapani advertisements have just been released in Italy and it's indeed the very first fall-winter
2003/2004 campaign to feature Mariacarla. She's got the campaign again, following her previous appearance for the
spring-summer 2003 ads of this Italian brand. These two pages are taken from Vogue Italia July 2003. I would like to
personally thank Andrea for his help with the scans.
Mariacarla turns up in the front page of Book Moda Italia, the pret-a-porter fall-winter 2003/2004 issue.
Basically it's only a pic of the Carolina Herrera show although it appears in another form as a cover there. The other one
is much better. Not sure what it is but it looks like an ID card or something. It has a nice shot of Mariacarla's face,
taken during the Cacharel show, besides few infos on the model. You can get it from one of the recent issues of Elle
Japan.

MINE again. After Mariacarla's appearance on the fall-winter 2001/2002 campaign, the Korean brand had
subsequently featured three other models: Anouck Lepere (spring-summer 2002), Jessica Miller (fall-winter 2002/2003) and
Trish Goff (spring-summer 2003). Talk about one helluva line-up there! Go to fashionshots
to view Anouck, Jessica and Trish, all looking impressive on their respective Mine campaigns. Does anybody have the full
Mine catalogue with Mariacarla? Drop me an e-mail.
Mariacarla in action at Alessandro Dell'Acqua spring-summer 2003 show. She had a little trouble with her
risque outfit, and that naughty moment is enough reason to download this DivX
video (2.8 MB) now. Too bad the clip only last for a few seconds.

July 2, 2003
2001 was the year when Mariacarla finally got the true recognition she deserved as a model. This was proved by the
major worldwide campaigns she did throughout that year, including Roberto Cavalli in the spring as well as Calvin
Klein Jeans in the fall. Steven Heitt photographed the Cavalli campaign, which had co-appearances by Danita Angell as
seen on the (unjoined) two pages spread. Meanwhile the CK Jeans campaign was shot by Steven Klein. I'm glad to be able to
feature this advertisement at last, since the only one I got is in fact the ad for CK Socks. Thanks Smaragda.
Many of Mariacarla's past editorials have become harder to find these days, and "Living Color" is no exception.
It's taken from City NY, a magazine I hadn't heard of before (pardon me). The issue is yet to be determined, but I
believe it's also from 2001. The photographer is Tiziano Magni and the fashion stylist is Roxanne Robinson. Any further
information regarding this editorial is appreciated, as is anyone who could help with better scans than these.

I've got free time this weekend so there goes another update. My thanks to Sara who helped me with the scans. These
pics could only be found on the latest issue of Vogue Nippon (July 2003). In this editorial Mariacarla reunites with
photographer Nathaniel Goldberg for twelve photos that seem to deal with nothing but close-up, close-up and more close-ups!
Just look for yourself. So where are the so-called "Visions of Tahiti" then?
If you're a Fashion TV viewer then you should've already watched these two clips before. They were once online for a
short period of time at supermodels.nl and now I've made the videos available again for those who haven't watched them.
Click to access the videos section and follow the instructions there. Remember that QuickTime 6
is required to view these MPEG-4 movies. Oh yes, one of them is the very cool FTV Models Talk with Mariacarla! This
has to be seen to be believed. Watch or die.

Please forgive me for the lack of new additions to the site. Life's got me so busy lately, if you ask. Hopefully I'll get
through all these hard times soon, so I could return with the frequent updates as usual. Just gimme more time. Until then,
here are some obscure materials for ya.
My jaw dropped when I looked at this breathtaking nude image of Mariacarla for the very first time. This is the
killer stuff that dreams are made of! The picture was photographed by Fabrizio Ferri and it was included on a book
dedicated to his photography works, Aria (2000). This was scanned from the book by Neroscan.
I had mentioned about L'Oreal "No Time" calendar (1999/2000) one year ago
but I wasn't able to discover any picture as the evidence back then. When I searched for some infos on Fabrizio Ferri, I
accidentally came across 12 photos of the "No Time" calendar and guess what? I finally found the Mariacarla pic I've been
looking for! Well I know that there could be one or two more Mariacarla photos from the session that remain unseen here, but
it seems impossible to find them. For your information, Fabrizio Ferri had been involved in most of L'Oreal calendars by
Aldo and Monica Coppola in Italy since "No Time".
This is just way too hillarous! The unknown editorial, featuring Mariacarla and the Christian Dior designer John
Galliano, should have been a popular one but I only knew about its existence recently... shame on me! Unfortunately, no
information is available either. The text suggests that these 'pillow war' scenes were shot at hotel Claridge in London and
Mariacarla was wearing a Dior spring 2002 dress there. It's likely that the ed is taken from a French mag, maybe Jalouse,
although that's only a prediction. Please do contact me if you recognize the origin of this editorial.
OK, that's Mariacarla with little Teddy in another advertisement for NAFNAF, but what about the parking lot
picture? Well, it was profesionally shot by photographer Patrick Cariou and it appears in his portfolio on his
representative website, though it's uncertain if the photo ever made it into another media. In the portfolio we can also see
top models such as Eugenia Volodina, Liya Kebede, Karolina Kurkova, Erin Wasson, Trish Goff, Jacquetta Wheeler and Viera
Schottertova.

June 11, 2003
Here I go again with French revue de modes #1 (autumn-winter 2002/2003). I've been raving about this hard-to-find
issue of the magazine for more than half a year now, as shamelessly archived on the December 2, 2002
and March 3, 2003 updates. Mariacarla could be seen on two excellent editorials,
namely "Insolence" and "Homegirl New Jersey", that you can recall from the preview.
Most of the images are now available as high resolution scans, with so many thanks to Jolie.
However, the cover is still missing from my site. Does anybody have the version of French no.1 with Mariacarla on the front
and back covers? Please e-mail me if you do. C'mon, scanning a cover is nothing difficult.
The first one, "Insolence" is a 36-pages editorial containing 33 individual black and white portraits of 22 models (in order
of appearance): Mariacarla Boscono, Adriana Lima, Jessica Miller, Anne Vyalitsyna, Anouck Lepere, Liliana Dominguez, Isabeli
Fontana, Jacquetta Wheeler, Allison Renner, Sara Ziff, Audrey Marnay, Carmen Maria Hillestad, Omahyra Mota Garcia, Filippa
Hamilton-Palmstierna, Fernanda Tavares, Trish Goff, Tasha Tilberg, Eva Jay Kubatova, Eugenia Volodina, Liya Kebede, Ingrid
Parewijck, Malgosia Bela. All photographs by Thierry le Gouès. Each girl appeared on one picture, with the exceptions to
Jessica, Isabeli and Omahyra who appeared on three pics and also to Mariacarla, Adriana, Anne, Jacquetta and Allison who
appeared on two. These are the same as Mariacarla's French covers.
The second editorial was also photographed by Thierry le Gouès, but this time it's Mariacarla all alone by herself. Unlike
"Insolence", this one is a full-color affair featuring eleven indoor photos (with Mariacarla) and four outdoor photos
(without Mariacarla). The entire thing was shot in a place called Starlite Motel, which has to be somewhere in New Jersey,
USA because of the given title: "Homegirl New Jersey". Not much to say about it, except that it's a superb editorial in any
sense of the word. Mariacarla? She looks extremely beautiful in this ed! Nuff said.
According to one source, the Pirelli Calendar 2004 will be photographed in London by Nick Knight. The confirmed
models so far are Dewi Driegen, Rie Rasmussen, Liberty Ross, Jessica Miller, Frankie Rayder, Adina Fohlin and Mariacarla
Boscono. No further details yet, but I'll post the news here as soon as it's available. For now, let's take a look back to
the 2003 calendar.
