Mariacarla as "Maria Carla"! Photos by Steven Klein. This editorial comes from Vogue Italia (February 2003). A
follow-up to Mariacarla: A Dazzling Beauty? Not too sure about that, but
it's surely another high profile editorial that redefines Mariacarla's status as an Italian icon in the fashion world.
Mariacarla for the spring-summer 2003 campaign of Coccapani, which was also photographed by Steven Klein.
These ads are taken from the February 2003 issue of Vogue Italia as well. Three different pics can be found on the January
issue, along with the first/last ones from this set. Dark, haunting... love it!
The new advertisement of Chanel, still from the same Vogue Italia. I assume that the photographer is Karl
Lagerfeld himself. Featuring Frankie Rayder and Mariacarla Boscono, of course. Don't forget to visit the new Frankie Rayder
tribute site, webmastered by my Italian friend Andrea. Yeah, it's Andrea who helps me today with all the scans from Vogue
Italia (February 2003). Grazie!
Something from another issue of Vogue Italia (December 2002). "Curtain Call" is a backstage editorial which
consists of one page of Mariacarla (at the Christian Dior haute couture fall-winter 2002/2003 show), one page of Michelle
Alves, and two pages of some clothes and accessories. Thanks Weslley.
More from the mystery editorial: "Out All Night", photographed by Martin Brading. Now, do you know the name of the
magazine that contains this editorial? And which issue it was? Drop me an e-mail. Tell me.

A new campaign featuring our own Mariacarla Boscono! This is the Korean advertisement for the spring-summer 2003
collection of NAFNAF, a quite popular brand from France that is. Mariacarla looks gorgeous as hell in these pics,
which means that the full Naf Naf catalogue is an item worth tracking down indeed. Hopefully I could get one to be featured
here later.
Mariacarla is also on the spring 2003 campaign of Il Marchese Coccapani, which could only be seen on the
recent issues of several Italian magazines. No scans yet, but here are the photos of Mariacarla at the Coccapani
spring-summer 2003 show in Milan (September 27, 2002).
Oh well, I missed one show on the Paris spring-summer 2003 haute couture coverage (see previous update). As a matter
of fact, Mariacarla also catwalked for Azzedine Alaia last week, as shown by the photos above. Anyway, let me know if
I still miss anything, ok? Now, check out these cool backstage photos! They were taken last year, not last week. One of them
is from Marni show.

January 24, 2003
Mariacarla was in Paris earlier this week for the spring 2003 haute couture fashion week (January 20-23, 2003). She
catwalked for Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier and Valentino on January 20, Chanel,
Christian Lacroix and Givenchy on January 21, and Philip Treacy on January 22. Since this is a
relatively short event, I decided to present this coverage after the whole event ended.
Meanwhile Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto showcased his fall 2003 ready to wear collection on January 19, also in
Paris. This show is not a part of the event above, but it's somewhat related due to Mariacarla's presence. Yohji had
previously done a similar thing for his spring 2003 show, which happened just before the fall 2002 couture fashion week.
What? The Pirelli Calendar picture again? Yes, I hope you're not tired already with it. This scan is excellently
executed, so it deserves to be featured here as a bonus along with one pic from Numéro #32 (a classic editorial,
However, none of them were scanned from the actual items. These are reprints for two different issues (and countries) of
Photo magazine last year. The former was reprinted on the December 2002 issue of the French edition, and the latter
was reprinted on the July-August 2002 issue of the Italian edition (30 Top Model special).

We're flying high again... to the land of the rising sun, Japan, for the superb "I Spy" editorial (with so many
thanks to Takayu). Taken from the January 2003 issue of Vogue Nippon, photos by Raymond Meier and starring Mariacarla
as the spy of course!
To be honest, I have no details about this cute picture of Mariacarla with Claud Gilbert.
I believe it's a part of an editorial, but do you know exactly where does the pic come from? Please put me out of this misery,
oops, curiosity! E-mail me.
Mariacarla is still riding high on MODELS.com's 50 Top Models, as most of us already knew. For those of you
who haven't voted for Mariacarla, now is your time to make that vote (after getting yourself registered of course). So what
are you waiting for? Click here
and show that you are a Mariacarla supporter!

Let's take a trip to the far east now. Before we go further, I'd like to thank my friend at Mariacarla Boscono Cafe
for the pics. First, we have the editorial above. It came from a 2001 issue of the now-defunct Korean magazine Farbe.
The title is "Just Feminine", and it's subtitled "feeling the spring in Paris". All photos were taken by Yoon jun-seob in
early 2001.
The supplement of Vogue Korea (January 2003) features two facial shots of Mariacarla, showcasing the make-up
used for Gucci and Louis Vuitton spring-summer 2003 shows. We got the details of Mariacarla's face... her eyes, eyebrows,
nose, lips, skins and so on!
I'll be featuring a Japanese editorial on the next update, so stay tuned for that one. Oh, I want to add that the
spring 2003 campaigns have just made their way into the magazines. So far, Mariacarla could be seen on Chanel and
Coccapani advertisements. The scans are not available yet.

I've been searching for the name of this spring-summer 2003 show for quite a while, and I found out that it's
actually Amaya Arzuaga (September 26, 2002). Mariacarla, who looked awesome as always, did no less than six shows
that day in Milan: Amaya Arzuaga, Mila Schön, Rocco Barocco, Byblos, Lancetti and Maska!
A retrospective on last year's haute couture shows in Paris. Both the spring-summer and fall-winter pages have
been updated with a total of 66 new photos (the detailed ones). All of which are also viewable here.
Expect to see Mariacarla in the spring-summer 2003 haute couture fashion week later this month.

January 10, 2003
Looking back to Mariacarla's younger years. She was 16 or 17 when these photos of Alberta Ferretti
spring-summer 1997 show were taken sometimes in '96. Those were the early days when Mariacarla mostly catwalked in Milan
(plus alta moda in Rome). She also did some one-off appearances in Tokyo's runways, such as the fall-winter 1998/1999 shows
in early '98.
Most fashion magazines have started featuring the spring-summer 2003 collection in their January 2003 issues. For
example, below here we can see Mariacarla at Louis Vuitton show in Harper's Bazaar US runway report this month.
I have already reported these shows on September-October last year and now an extra page is added for the season. It also
includes few backstage photos, courtesy of French Elle website. Just click
the photos above (from Mariacarla's perfect performance at the last Roberto Cavalli show).
Check the new photos page regularly to keep track of all the additions that didn't make it to
the main page. On this update, 14 pics are being added.

These photos will tell you why Mariacarla is one of the best runway models around (she's the best, face the truth!).
They were taken at the La Perla spring-summer 2003 show in Milan (September 28, 2002). If you noticed Mariacarla in
any other fashion shows that haven't been included in my site yet, then e-mail me so I could find the photos to be featured.
Mariacarla at the launching party of Dior Addict perfume in Paris. The picture can be found on French Elle
(October 28, 2002). It might not be as important as the eds/ads, but it's the best backstage photo I've seen in a while!
Unfortunately, the scan quality is not satisfying at all. Is there anyone who could help me with a perfect scan of this
image, please? Thanks in advance.

2003 has arrived! Nothing is better to kickstart this new year than The Pirelli Calendar 2003. It's impossible for me
to get hold of the real thing, but thankfully, the pictures have been reprinted on several magazines of the world. We got
the bigger scans now! The left is taken from "The Girls From Pirelli 2003", a supplement included within the January 2003
issue of Esquire UK. Meanwhile the right is featured on Vogue Brasil January 2003 (thanks Wes!).
The Mariacarla Boscono site was temporarily unavailable in late December due to bandwidth problem. A mirror site has been
launched just in case this trouble happens again in the future. Please bookmark www.mariacarlaboscono.hpg.com.br
now! Go there whenever you get a "bandwidth limit exceeded" error.

Here is a video taken from Fashion File
Model Moments collection. This video has a cool interview with our very own Mariacarla Boscono, at the backstage of Missoni
fall 2002 show in Milan. Oh, this is the first time I hear my Italian girl talking in English. Her English is pretty good,
even if it's a bit accented.
The video only runs for 2 minutes, but it is still utterly essential to watch. Before you go any further, please read these
instructions:
1. Follow this link to download the video to your
computer. Yes, you must download it first because we're dealing with a 17 MB file here (ouch!). You're recommended to use
GetRight in this case. No more broken downloads, thanks to this great program.
2. After the download is finished, open the MM-Mariacarla_Boscono.rm file. The latest version of Real Player
is required for viewing, so just make sure the software has been installed properly.
3. If you want to stream the video directly without downloading, then simply click on the image.

Bruce Weber's "West Side Story", from Vogue US (November 2002): (1) Mariacarla Boscono and Natalia Vodianova, between
two Brazilians. (2) Mariacarla, 2nd from left, along with the entire cast. Everyone's watching the sun goes down in New York.
Everyone, except the lonely Anouck... :)
Thanks to Weslley for the scans. More from this editorial will be featured in his Nat V site.

The vacation's over. After nearly two weeks away from the site... I'm back! The design has been altered, and finally, the
time has come to reveal the secret editorial.
It's hard to find the words to express just how I feel at the moment, because these pictures seem to have everything that
could be told from Mariacarla. They describe what Mariacarla Boscono is all about to me: sexuality and sensuality
personified in a stunning perfection. Ah...
The photos were taken earlier this year by Michele Civelli with helps from Cristiana Ceccarelli (make-up) and Franco
Gobbi (hair styling). Yes, this was a personal shooting test that Mariacarla herself granted to Michele! The images couldn't
be found anywhere else but on Michele's book at www.michelecivelli.com.
It was Michele who kindly authorized me to use these photos for my Mariacarla site. Grazie!

My good old friend Jolie has just scanned some cool Japanese stuffs for me! Thanks a lot Jolie. First, we have the
so-called "Fashion snap from Milan & Paris", taken from Spur (January 2003).
A lovely picture of Karolina Kurkova and Mariacarla Boscono opens this special feature. Yikes, I can't stand KK's horsey
smile, but anyway... smile on, girls! The following page sees Mariacarla alone in #5 and #17. There's also a little corner
dedicated to Mariacarla, with three snapshots taken after the spring 2003 shows of Alberta Ferretti, Marni and Alessandro
Dell'Acqua in Milan.
The first issue (no.1, autumn-winter 2002/2003) of new magazine French - Revue de Modes features two
editorials with Mariacarla: "Insolence" and "Homegirl New Jersey". I haven't got the scans yet, but how about a glimpse on
the covers? Yep, there are 22 different covers for this issue alone! They can be previewed on "French What?", a short
article from the January 2003 issue of the Japan mag So-EN.
- ?, Tasha Tilberg, Adriana Lima, Mariacarla Boscono, Carmen Maria Hillestad
- Audrey Marnay, Liya Kebede, Omahyra Mota, Filippa Hamilton-Palmstierna, ?
- Anne Vyalitsyna, Jessica Miller, Dewi Driegen, Liliana Dominguez, Isabeli Fontana
- Rie Rasmussen, Jeisa Chiminazzo, ?, Malgosia Bela, Jacquetta Wheeler
- Eugenia Volodina, Fernanda Tavares
Three bonus pics from New York. The first two were taken at the backstage of Boss Hugo Boss and Yigal Azrouël fall
2002 shows, respectively. Meanwhile the last one was taken at a party by designer Douglas Hannant, after his spring
2003 show recently. Hey, I just love that oriental look in Mariacarla's face!

November 30, 2002
The 'Chi esclusivo' section of weekly Italian magazine CHI (March 6, 2002). That mag is all about celebrities,
not fashion. Bit gossipy, maybe? Yes, but it has two original Mariacarla photos by Antonio Guccione, plus small pics from
Gattinoni, Iceberg and Gai Mattiolo shows. There's also an interesting profile of Mariacarla as well, but it won't be
featured until the translation is done.
While browsing through the Hanascan
site yesterday, I also came across an editorial from the March 2002 issue of Italian Photo magazine. Though
speculative, I believed Mariacarla appears on it. Click here to view the
scans. I'm against displaying them here, because the photos are HORRIBLE! This is a typical self-indulgence of photographer
Andrea Giacobbe, best known for directing Garbage's "Push It" video (both the band and the video are just that... garbage!).
Andrea did several works with Mariacarla in the past, which include the Diesel Stylelab campaign (2000).
The two images above were already featured back in April 2002, in case you forgot about them. Yesterday I found the
better scans, courtesy of Modelle's. This editorial, "Artistic
License", was photographed by Patrick Demarchelier for Harper's Bazaar US (February 2002). The ballerina photo is
simply the best. A timeless classic, that is. The rest of the ed still bites, though.

November 26, 2002
An exclusive photo taken by Italian photographer Michele Civelli at the backstage of Valentino show in Paris
sometimes last month. Special thanks to Michele for personally sending the photo to me. It's a high quality image, so it
might take a while to load due to its rather large file size (867 kb).
Michele has been working close with Mariacarla for several years now. Here are few samples of those works, from the early
years. One of them is the advertisement for Brine, meanwhile the others are supposedly from an editorial, although it
isn't clear yet whether the photos have ever been published in a magazine or not.
I am going to feature some more Michele's latest photos of Mariacarla soon. Seriously, these photos will blow away anything
Mariacarla has done lately. Can I say that they're even better than the Pirelli Calendar photo? Yes, I can! It's THAT good.
Stay hungry...
Mariacarla at Chaiken fall-winter 2002/2003 show in New York (February 11, 2002). She looked better on the
spring-summer 2002 show of Chaiken (September 10, 2001), but I still couldn't find the photos. In fact, it was the last show
she did on New York spring-summer 2002 fashion week. The remaining dates of this event had to be cancelled due to what
happened in the following day. A history.
One picture from this show was featured on August 14, 2002 update, but I had
no idea which show it was until more recently. This was actually the fall-winter 2002/2003 show of Vivienne Westwood
in Paris (March 11, 2002). Mariacarla also catwalked for Stella McCartney, Paco Rabanne and YSL Rive Gauche on the same day.
Mariacarla's New York agency, dna Model Management, has just opened the official website last week. The site
is of course reachable at www.dnamodels.com. Rather than wasting
your time for the flash to load, click here
instead and you'll be taken straight into Mariacarla's online portfolio.
