Mariacarla Boscono

August 28, 2002

Last year, Mariacarla appeared twice on Mixt(e) magazine. She could be seen on the cover and an editorial of no.14 (the spring-summer 2001 issue) and also on an editorial of no.15 (the fall-winter 2001/2002 issue). I already have the Mixt(e) #14 scans (courtesy of Jim R's My Fascination) and with thanks to Jim again, I finally got the scans of Mixt(e) #15. The editorial is entitled "Vénéneuse" (= venomous). All photos by Luis Sanchis. Hey, watch out for some tits!

August 24, 2002

"Solo-Auftritt", photographed by Mark Abrahams for Vogue Deutsch March 2002. Mariacarla's beauty shines effortlessly whenever she does a classy editorial like this. Awesome... truly awesome! I'd like to thank Jim who scanned the images for me. Also check out his version of Blues (The News), an editorial from Arena Homme Plus spring-summer 2002. It includes all the female models, and excludes all the male models of course.

Thanks to Cendres for the following advertisements:
• Two pics of Chanel Sport spring-summer 2002 campaign. These are the so-called ski outfits ads, if I'm not mistaken. You'll easily see that there's a relation between this and the Chanel swimwear advertisement.
• One pic of Chanel Accessories spring-summer 2002 campaign. This is the second (and last) version of Chanel eyewear ad, to be specific.
• Two pics of Roberto Cavalli spring-summer 2001 campaign. My Cavalli ads collection is still incomplete. There's one missing picture I saw. Mariacarla is wearing a yellow bikini in this pic.

As a side note, three campaigns from fall-winter 2001/2002, Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein Jeans and Chanel Haute Couture, are all completely unavailable here in my site. It's such a shame on me, because those are big achievements for Mariacarla's career indeed.

I opened a new page for the covers. It's just a compilation of Mariacarla's appearances on the covers of the magazines, so you must have seen them all before. Let me know if I missed anything.

August 20, 2002

I'm back with two photos from two different editorials, both scanned by Jolie. The black & white photo is a part of the infamous Steven Meisel's "Portraits", the one and only editorial in Vogue Italia (January 2002). It has 63 straight on studio portraits of 30 models, shot in monochrome. Some girls got one picture, some got two or more. Mariacarla is the last girl to appear, and what a beautiful finale it is! She's an angel...

The color photo is taken from Dutch #40 (July-August 2002). It's a part of "Scheherazade", the only editorial in the issue to feature female models. Mikael Jansson shot all the 17 models (each girl has one picture). It seems that Mariacarla is having a bad hair day there... :)

Here are the names of all models on two previously mentioned editorials above:
• Vogue Italia January 2002: Carmen Kass, Anouck Lepere, Natasha Vojnovic, Bridget Hall, Ann Catherine Lacroix, Jacquetta Wheeler, Erin Wasson, Valerie Sipp, Amanda Moore, Stella Tennant, Naomi Campbell, An Oost, Trish Goff, Shalom Harlow, Devon Aoki, Linda Evangelista, Carolyn Murphy, Marisa Berenson, Maggie Rizer, Suzana Macasova, Caroline Ribeiro, Carmen Maria Hillestad, Gisele Bundchen, Liya Kebede, Liberty Ross, Stephanie Seymour, Christy Turlington, Karen Elson, Hannelore Knuts, Maria Carla Boscono.
• Dutch July-August 2002: Caroline Ribeiro, Karen Elson, Valery Prince, Maja Latinovic, An Oost, Liliana Dominguez, Maria Carla Boscono, Natalia Vodianova, Jessica Miller, Filippa Hamilton, Devon Aoki, Isabeli Fontana, Marcelle Bittar, Anne Vyalitsyna, Alek Wek, Liya Kebede, Bridget Hall.

Bonus runway photos:
- Roberto Cavalli (Milan spring-summer 2001)
- Rifat Ozbek (Milan spring-summer 2001)
- Heatherette (New York spring-summer 2002)
- Givenchy (Paris spring-summer 2002)

August 14, 2002

Let me take you to the shows now! We're goin' from left to the right, and top to the bottom. First, three images taken from Elle UK's Front Row spring-summer 2002 supplement.
• M for "Mariacarla": The Italian girl and her long arms during the Missoni show in Milan.
• R for "Rock On": Stella McCartney's guitar bag, which is an utter piece of crap if it's compared to the Fender used on Numéro #35 editorial.
• V for "Valentino": The designer posed with a bunch of models after his show. Mariacarla and her funny face were there too!

The 1st image of the 2nd row is taken from Marie Claire France (March 2002). Mariacarla and three other models in pink for Chanel haute couture spring-summer 2002 show in Paris. Meanwhile the remaining three are taken from the supplement of Vogue Paris (August 2002). These are fall-winter 2002/2003 shows, but the designers are undetermined yet.

Jolie, of the cool miscans site, scanned all the pictures, except for the catwalk photos (scans by Cendres). These are specifically archived on miscellanous pictures section of the runways/backstage pages. Hey, is there something in the name? For your information, this section contains onstage/offstage pics that were scanned from the mags. Most entries were previously located on the others page, including the interview video. Also new on the misc page is one scan from Cosmo Girl (done by Katya).

August 12, 2002

A haute couture editorial, entitled... err, "Haute Couture"? I guess that's the title, as typed somewhere in the editorial. The source magazine is Elle France, and the issue was out on February 25, 2002. Once again, we have got to thank Cendres for these scans.

This is one of few editorials where Mariacarla worked with Karl Lagerfeld as the photographer, not the designer he usually is. Unfortunately, a large portion of image retouches were applied to the original photos. The result? Awful! This simply isn't what I hoped for, especially when the nudity is in play.

Regardless of that, I am still looking for two other Lagerfeld-photographed editorials which could be found on Vogue Deutsch February 2002 and Interview April 2002. The search goes on... and on and on...

Scroll down for a little bit of shameless plug... :P

August 10, 2002

Mariacarla for DKNY Jeans fall 2002 advertisement, photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Thanks to my friend Maria, of the Shatterscans fame, who scanned it from Harper's Bazaar US (September 2002). Go to alternates page to view two different scans of the same picture (taken from the August 2002 issues of W and Vogue US, respectively).

Shoot me, but this ad just reminds me too much of Danger Danger's "The Return Of The Great Gildersleeves" CD cover. I believe both photos were shot at night in NYC. That's cool, cos it's no secret that I'm a die-hard Danger Danger fan. Gildersleeves (released in 2000) is a killer album that should appeal to classic rock and modern rock fans alike. Listen to Dead Drunk & Wasted in full MP3. Gotta love the lyrics: I'm a punk and my junk is a pretty face.... :)

August 8, 2002

Some pics from French magazines, scanned by Cendres. The first two were photographed by Jean Lariviere for Cosmopolitan (September 2000). This editorial could be incomplete, though.

The last picture is of course the cover of Jalouse (June 2001). I've to find out whether Mariacarla has an editorial inside or not, cos if there's one, then it's gotta be a lovely one! Just look at the bikini girl...

Oh, I forgot to tell you that the Mariacarla Boscono message board (or whatever it is) has been online since the last update. Let's have a good time there!

August 6, 2002

The July-August 2002 issue of Photo magazine (Italian edition) has a special feature on "30 Top Model". Both my favorites, Mariacarla and Jeisa, are included. This isn't a worthy addition to my site, because the picture is only a reprint of one of Numéro April 2002 pics. That aside, cos the full article is a pretty good read. Just click here to see all those models (scans by ironbed, for supermodels.it). Gee, when will people stop calling her Maria Carla Boscone?

Go to this page to view one pic of Christian Dior fall-winter 2002/2003 haute couture show (scanned from Hola mag, by Maria), and also three scans from Marie Claire Brasil (August 2002).

August 4, 2002

I have picked the best editorial from Cendres' scans collection for the weekend update. It's a long wanted editorial from the latest Numéro (no.35), called Time For A Cigarette. Photographer/video director Jean-Baptiste Mondino took all the photos.

Rock'n'roll is the theme for this July-August 2002 issue of Numéro, but Mariacarla's pictures are not quite rocking despite the inclusion of the electric guitar, which looks like a Fender Stratocaster to me. It's more like smoking. Cigar? No, thanks.

Of all Mariacarla's Numéro eds that I've seen, I would rank this one behind the great Hotel Particulier. The nudity on "Time..." is well performed, although not as sexual as "Hotel..." is. Damn, can't wait for her next Numéro appearance!

As a bonus, check out 8 photos from Yigal Azrouël show on the New York fall-winter 2001/2002 page. That's all folks, I'm outta here.

August 3, 2002

Mariacarla is chosen as August 2002 model of the month on Models et Mags! This news is not a surprise anymore for me, because webmistress Cendres had already revealed this secret to me late last month. What surprise me are the pictures themshelves, of course. There are four photo galleries (70 scans!), which include so many pics that I've never seen before! I don't want to re-feature these images immediately, as a respect for the hard work of my good friend Cendres. I'll choose one for tomorrow, though. Now... right now (as sung on "Now", the first single released from Def Leppard's Xcellent new album X), just click here to visit the marvelous Maria Carla Boscone, err, Mariacarla Boscono showcase!

July 28, 2002

Oh yeah, another killer editorial for ya! Taken from the spring-summer 2002 issue of Deliciae Vitae magazine, scans by Jim. "La vie en rose", starring Mariacarla as the nude clown in the photos by Vincent Peters. Click here to view the bloody thing in its entirety. A model named Simone is in the rest of the ed, which is really unfortunate. Sure, I'd rather see Mariacarla alone through out the editorial... stark naked! That scary look in her face is a minor point, but her body makes up for it. It's just sooo dreamy, isn't it? I'm goin' crazy... from the heat... :P

Don't forget to check out the new editorials page. The interface has been modified for easier navigation. I also added the alternate versions of Numéro April 2002 and Deliciae Vitae spring-summer 2002 eds as well. I took these scans without permission from the source. It's a revenge, cos this payshite stole a lot of images from the Mariacarla site.

The right-click option has been enabled again. You could now download every picture of Dutch editorial, including the two pics that wer
e previously undownloadable. I have also decided to remove the javascript of popup window, which was heavily used on the runways section. Now, those photos will be opened in normal new window. End of technical note.

July 23, 2002

We are about to face some nudities as I promised before, so here is one of the two editorials. "Embark" by Michael Sanders, from Dutch no.39 (May-June 2002). It's a shame that the nude photo is not in color, but overall the editorial is a killer! Makes me curious to see the editorial of Dutch no.40 (July-August 2002), although Mariacarla only appear on one picture.

What you see here is just half the editorial. The other half belongs to another model, Filippa Hamilton. You might think I'm biased if I say that Mariacarla shouldn't share this ed with Filippa, but what I'm saying is nothing but the truth. Mariacarla is looking waaaaaaay prettier than Filippa, so who needs Filippa when we already have Mariacarla. Please view all the 12 images here for yourself. Hey, you just can't deny my good taste... :)

Extra special thanks to Jim (of My Fascination) who personally sent me these high quality scans. He also scanned the other editorial, where Mariacarla is totally naked. Stay hungry!

Check out the photos from spring-summer 2001 shows of Yigal Azrouël and Alexandre Matthieu on the new photos section of the runways page. There is also a backstage photo from Lawrence Steele spring-summer 2002 show, but as far as I know, Mariacarla wasn't on that show. It might be from Alessandro Dell'Acqua show, or whatever happened in the same day as Lawrence Steele show.

Mariacarla's DKNY ad could be seen on August issues of US mags like Vanity Fair, Vogue and W. No scans... :(

July 19, 2002

I've been away from this site for some time, but now I'm "Back For The Attack" (as Dokken would say). Hey, let's get rocked!

We're going to see Mariacarla nude again, but I am not ready yet to show you the editorial(s). What about something intimate to begin with? Just like these photos of Mariacarla in Roberto Cavalli Lingerie. They were taken during the MOMI Intimo Designers fall-winter 2001/2002 show in Milan (February 24, 2001). As far as I know, this was Mariacarla's only appearance on MOMI (Moda Milano) underwear fashion shows. And that makes a great one! She looked surprisingly stunning in lingerie. I remember that I wasn't a huge fan of her before I saw this show on FTV last year (along with several other shows, of course).

I've opened a new page for haute couture spring-summer 2002. All photos are new, at least for my site. If you want to see Mariacarla's latest looks, please go to the style page. There we have the photos from haute couture fall-winter 2002/2003 and also pret-a-porter spring-summer 2003 fashion weeks.

July 9, 2002

Sorry for being late, but here it comes in your face! The fall-winter 2002/2003 advertisement of Emanuel Ungaro, featuring our very own Mariacarla in a photograph by Karen Collins. Taken from the source magazine that is Vogue US (July 2002 issue, of course), with thanks to Leon for scanning the image.

Hmm, isn't it a little too early for fall-winter ads? You know, I know... we haven't reached the end of the summer days yet! As a side note, the Ungaro spring-summer 2002 campaign girl is Erin Wasson (see previous update).

Someone finally got her name right: Maria Carla Boscono. Maria Carla or Mariacarla? I'd say... Mariacarla! But both are fine as long as it's followed by Boscono (NOT Boscone). And don't ever call her with just Maria.

The page has a Mariacarla photo from the backstage of Roberto Cavalli spring-summer 2002 show in Milan. It was scanned from Glamour Italia March 2002 by Jolie. Mariacarla was one of the models asked for this feature, and although I couldn't speak Italian, it seems that she's talking about some of her favorite stuffs. Can anybody translate what Mariacarla is saying on those quotes?

Before I go, here are two backstage photos from Paris fall-winter 2001/2002 shows: Morgan and Bernhard Willhelm. I either missed the pics or forgot to include them when I started the backstage page.

July 2, 2002

Let's get into an editorial that was included within the supplement of Vogue Italia (March 2002). The photographer is Paolo Roversi, and the models are Mariacarla Boscono, Erin Wasson, Anne Catherine Lacroix and Kamilla Sczscawinska. The editorial itself is entitled "Magnificent: Top to Toe", with total of 12 photos. Click here to view the ed (almost) in its entirety, and to see if these girls live up to the title or not. I still partially enjoy it although I saw something is lacking. Oh, there goes another 'thank you' to Jolie for her scans...

June 28, 2002

I don't think many of you remember when I talked about Mariacarla's Spur (December 2001) picture. But someone did. Thanks to Jolie who finally scanned them for me.

She said that these four pics were part of a 'Different Looks On Different Models' feature and how to imitate the hairstyles. Sure, they were found in the hair & make-up section of that issue. Gotta love the pigtails... :)

More from Jolie. Both two pics were found in Vogue Deutsch (January 2002). That's Mariacarla running at the backstage of Versus (spring-summer 2002) show in Milan. I have no idea where she was on the other pic.

I thought we have to wait a little bit longer to see Mariacarla in the new Emanuel Ungaro campaign, but someone told me that it's out now! The advertisement has just been released and it seems that the ad made its debut on Vogue US (July 2002). A rough scan of the image will be presented here next week.

June 25, 2002

I have just added some runway photos, courtesy of firstVIEW. The Versus and Dior ones are specifically taken from the beauty section. As usual, all of those latest additions can easily be viewed on the runways page. Before you go there, please read the following details first:

• One photo of Kenzo show and four photos of Sonia Rykiel show on fall-winter 2000/2001 page.
• Three photos of Diesel Stylelab show and four photos of Olivier Theyskens show on Paris spring-summer 2001 page.
• Three photos of Sonia Rykiel show on Paris fall-winter 2001/2002 page.
• Five photos of Versus show on Milan spring-summer 2002 page.
• Two photos of Christian Dior show on Paris spring-summer 2002 page.
• Three photos of Antonio Berardi show (Milan spring-summer 2002) on backstage page.

Speaking of Diesel, I recently read that Mariacarla once appeared on a Diesel campaign which was shot by Andrea Giacobbe. I know nothing more of it and I even haven't seen the ad yet. I guess it was made for spring-summer 2001 seasons. Anybody still got it?

June 23, 2002

These are the pictures of Mariacarla from W (July 2002). This party-esque editorial was shot on location in Dominican Republic by photographer Bruce Weber, hence the title is "Republican Party".

The entire editorial occupies 48 pages, but not every page has a model in it. I don't give a damn about the people in the ed, except for two names: Mariacarla Boscono and Natalia Vodianova. Some of the pages are full of little polaroid pictures with Mariacarla in one of those polaroids. It wasn't scanned.

I'd like to thank Maria for scans and infos. She even set up a cool page of Mariacarla's and Natalia's pics from this editorial. Let's taste a special treat with the girls now! Yummy, look at the black and white image of Mariacarla. I wish that I was the baby.

Mariacarla previously also appeared on W (April 2002), in the "Film Noir" editorial with Tasha Tilberg, Anne Catherine Lacroix and Hannelore Knuts. Most of pics are B&W and not large. No scans yet, though. Anyone?

June 19, 2002

"Blue Jean Baby", photographed by Mario Testino for Vogue UK (August 2001). There are 10 pages in this editorial, but Mariacarla could only be seen on three pages. The ed has a teen feel to it and Mariacarla fits nicely with that. Pretty cool, huh?

I initially wasn't too sure to name the other models here because I couldn't see their faces clearly enough. None of them (Maja Latinovic, Natasha Vojnovic, Kristina Sayko) is as special as Mariacarla Boscono is to me. One look is all it took to say that it's the one and only (and lovely too) Mariacarla! Click here for the entire editorial. Thanks to Kris for the scans.

June 15, 2002

How many times did Mariacarla appear on Numéro? I've only known four editorials so far: "Stone and Roses" (June 2001), "Arums" (November 2001), "Blanches" (February 2002) and "Hotel Particulier" (April 2002). They are all excellent and available here. "Blanches" has just been added today, with thanks to Cendres of Models et Mags for these scans.

The main theme for that February issue is "white", so don't expect to see clothes of any other color inside. "Blanches" (whites) is indeed the main editorial there. Photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg, it features group pictures as well as few close up portraits of Isabeli Fontana, Carmen Maria Hillestad, Liliana Dominguez, Mariacarla Boscono and four unknowns.

Cendres also shared this scan from her archives. It's a part of "Emotion Couleur" from L'Officiel (March 2002). An editorial with images of haute couture spring-summer 2002 shows in Paris. All photos were taken at the backstage by Delphine Kreuter, and there are only two of Mariacarla in this ed. One photo from Jean Paul Gaultier (January 20) and one photo from Christian Dior (January 21). The Gaultier photo is on today's update, meanwhile the Dior photo is on April 23 update.

June 11, 2002

There is always something funny on Mariacarla's face, no matter how hard she tries to look serious. Love her expression in this pic... so cute! Thanks to Maria who scanned it for Shatterscans and then lent it to me. It's just another picture of Roberto Cavalli advertisement for spring-summer 2001, probably the eyewear ad. I'm still missing out some more Mariacarla pics from Cavalli's campaign of that season. Your scans are welcomed as always!

Three rehearsal photos have just been added to the backstage page. Click here and here to view the two photos from Stella McCartney show, and click here to view the one photo from Lagerfeld Gallery show. You'll easily notice that it was the pret-a-porter fashion week for spring-summer 2002 in Paris.
I also added two backstage pics to the style archive. One from Moschino show, one from Ungaro show. Both shows are fall-winter 2001/2002 ready to wear.

Check out Model Watch with Mariacarla! It reappears without permission of STYLE.com. Mariacarla is the first model featured in this new series, which debuted on May 22. I was hesitant to put it here cos I already knew most of the interview bits. However, some of them are new to me.
- Her favorite food is her father's home made lasagna which is very good according to her.
- Her boyfriend's name is Theo. He is indeed the long haired dude in this photo. I'm jealous!
- Too bad, she likes listening to some lame music. Her musical taste is nowhere near as good as mine. Sorry!
- Mariacarla also shares some favorite runway moments on the page.
