Mariacarla Boscono

June 8, 2002

The Sybilla spring-summer 2002 advertisement is still down below, but how about the Japanese version? The best is in the land of the rising sun, and it has landed here. Wacky concept. Very funny, a far cry from the regular ad.

Nobody does it better than Takayu when it comes to fashion magazines from Japan. These were scanned by Mr. Wind from Far East himself. The purple is from Vogue Nippon May 2002, the green is from... I forgot!

June 5, 2002

Let's take a break from the eds. Ads time! One with Marc by Marc Jacobs, two with Sybilla. All taken from spring-summer 2002 issue of V (scans by Misha). The pics are only fillers, cos nothing new except the yellow one.

In brief about Mariacarla's forthcoming advertisement campaigns for fall-winter 2002/2003. Although unconfirmed, the following informations were revealed by reliable sources.

Mariacarla Boscono will be the face of DKNY along with Anne Vyalitsyna and Delphine Balfort, plus German male model Damien Vanzyl. The DKNY campaign is to be photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Mariacarla will also appear on the campaigns of Jean Paul Gaultier (to be photographed by Jean Baptiste Mondino), Emanuel Ungaro (to be photographed by Karen Collins) and a new Michael Kors fragrance as well (to be photographed by Fabien Baron).

I remember Jeisa once appeared on an Ungaro ad too in the past. Last season Jeisa was one of the Versus girls, but now Mariacarla is taking over alongside the best (Isabeli, who is a close friend of Jeisa) and the rest (Dewi, Nadine, Angie, Sharon). Steven Meisel will once again shot the new Versus ad.

I heard that Moschino is also on Mariacarla's list, but things won't be complete without anything related to Karl Lagerfeld. It's no secret that Mariacarla has been a favorite of him since 2001. She is rumored to be the next star of Lagerfeld Gallery. Don't hear a word on Chanel, though.

June 1, 2002

We end it up with a big bang. Maria Carla naked for The Face (December 2001). Damn, these pictures still kick some serious ass!
The editorial is either untitled or selftitled as "Maria Carla and Carmen and Natasha and Jimmy and JR". Those are the names of the models. All photographs by Meiert Alas and Marcus Piggot.

Finally, all those editorials are here at long last. I'd like to thank Jim again for everything. Stay tuned for the long-awaited return of his wonderful My Fascination. Keep on scanning dude, especially when it's Mariacarla.

Not long ago, I saw Mariacarla nude on an old FTV video about the making of L'Oreal "No Time" calendar by Aldo and Monica Coppola. It was for fall-winter 1999/2000 seasons. Before this, I only knew her awful appearance on L'Oreal spring-summer 2001 calendar (two shots on the ads page). However, "No Time" is something worth dying for as it was artistically executed with Mariacarla baring it all to the limit. Wow!

May 30, 2002

A great editorial that should have been featured earlier. Inspired by a woman named Frida Kahlo, whom I knew nothing of until I saw this. Based on the introduction, she was a quite influential person. Presumably dead. That intro page was omitted from Jim's takes on the ed below, but it is included within the alternate scans sector.

Mariacarla starred as "Frida Kahlo" in the November 2001 issue of Harper's Bazaar US. Whether she looked like Frida or not is a debate that I don't care for. The editorial itself, photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg, is truly a classic! A glimmer of elegance is shining bright through out these photos. No, it doesn't belong to Frida Kahlo. It is the rarely exposed elegant beauty of an Italian girl that we all love. Her name is Mariacarla Boscono.

May 28, 2002

Statuesque shots of Mariacarla, done by Marcus Piggot and Meiert Alas for Numéro No. 24 (June 2001). Stoned tits? Yeah, but it is in fact entitled "Stone and Roses".

Oddly enough, the title makes me go back to the song "Sword And Stone" by Germany hard rockers Bonfire. It's the soundtrack of late 80's horror flick "Shocker". Download the complete music video (40MB) via this page and have a crazy trip back to the big hair days!

Err, I can hear some complaints because all editorials today have both been previously available. It should be noted that neither of these are the same scans. Done by Jim, they are higher in quality.

This "Untamed Fire" from Interview (October 2001) has been burning since late last year. One reason why I put it up front again is because Mariacarla also appeared on Interview (April 2002). The editorial was shot by Karl Lagerfeld just like the following pictures. Sadly, same old shit happened again as I can't buy the mag in my country. It sucks, cos some friends said that the new Interview ed is really good indeed. Anyone could help me with the scans... please?

Karl also took the photos for "Lichtspiel" editorial from Vogue Deustch (February 2002). It has some models (Mariacarla included) standing, dancing and loitering around in 12 pages. "The soft, youthful virgin theme continues", as a review described. Quite interesting, but nothing I can do except to update the missing items list once again, with that one and also "Solo Auftritt" editorial from Vogue Deutsch (March 2002). Help!

May 26, 2002

A beautiful and dark "Lady's Night" with our Mariacarla. That's the cover and main editorial of Mixt(e) #14 (June 2001). All photos by Philippe Cometti. Scans courtesy of Jim. Meanwhile Mixt(e) #15, the fall-winter 2001/2002 issue, has an editorial called "Vénéneuse" with Mariacarla too. View the poor scans here. Sorry, they didn't pass the quality control of my site. The ed is still AWOL... :(

The early years page is updated with photos from the past show of Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti (fall-winter 1997/1998). Do check out the young (but not so innocent) Mariacarla! I still think that the new Mariacarla looks way cooler, as shown by the photos of Custo Barcelona (spring-summer 2001) show which have just been added here. I saw Custo's show on an old Videofashion News three days ago. Mariacarla is so lovely there, especially in the backstage happenings.

You want the best, you got it! Yeah, these were scanned by Takayu and done perfectly as always. Call it "Blues (The News)", from the spring-summer 2002 issue of Arena Homme Plus which was out in April.
The editorial is a very good collection of simple portraits by Patrick Demarchelier, featuring Anne Vyalitsyna, Evan Kidd, Erika Wall, Mike Lemmon, Henry Hargreaves, Natalia Vodianova, Maria Carla Boscone (hey, it's Mariacarla Boscono), Harry Kinkead, Jeisa Chiminazzo, John Deitrich, Eugenia Volodina.

Oh well, I can't decide anymore so here they go again. Mariacarla and Jeisa, bluesy blue sea! An identical update is also on my Jeisa Chiminazzo site today. Shoot me.

Two pages of Chanel Swimwear advertisement for spring-summer 2002. Scans were done by Maria, and both have been featured on Shatterscans since early May. Found in the April 2002 issue (US edition) of Tatler, a UK magazine.

I've corrected the bio with a definite date of Mariacarla's birthday, as informed directly once more by the mysterious one. You wanna know who the person is? This hard rockin' song is a hint!
Mariacarla was born in 1980. It should be on September 20, not September 2. Nobody's fault but Fashion TV for confusing me about which date is accurate. This also means she has an exactly the same birthday as Caroline Ribeiro.

May 16, 2002

One question has been buzzing in my head for quite some time. It's about her name... is it Maria Carla Boscone, or Maria Carla Boscono, or what? Thankfully, a very important person (ehm) had made it clear after a personal contact with me recently. The correct way is: Mariacarla Boscono From now on, let's all say it right! Most of the pages have been modified to express this, although the website's URL will remain a mistake until the final movement.

A preview for "Blues (The News)" from Arena Homme Plus (spring-summer 2002). Jeisa or Mariacarla? Both look gorgeous, but my pick goes to Mariacarla. I even said a similar thing on my Jeisa site. I kid you not, follow this link. Don't forget to click here to view the entire editorial, courtesy of demarchelier.net. Of course, I've got the high quality scans to be featured later.

Mariacarla in red for Sybilla spring-summer 2002 campaign. As a matter of fact, the ad came as a pair of two pictures. She is wearing a yellow dress on the other pic. Only time will tell when can I put that on my site. Oh, this was scanned by my long time friend Jolie. Hello Jolie, are you there?

Eight photos of Louis Féraud fall-winter 2001/2002 show have been added. Look at them under the Paris division. Pret-a-porter, not haute couture.

Due to technical difficulties, I had to postpone a plan which was explained on the previous update.

May 7, 2002

Life goes on after the thunder! Yeah, gotta bring on another update although the previous one still won't leave my head. Don't expect the unexpected, though.

My special thanks goes to Jim at My Fascination for giving me the permission to use his scans. Six editorials will be featured here, as usual with some extras from me. Up first, Mariacarla with the "Diamond Dogs" from Jalouse US (July 2001). Warwick Saint took all the photos, including the cover. Thumbs up!

April 30, 2002

You've been dying for this. Maria Carla Boscone, Anouck Lepere and An Oost in the "Hotel Particulier". Photographed by Mikael Jansson for Numéro (April 2002). Normally, I wouldn't display the images which have no Maria Carla, but I made an exception for this mindblowing piece of work. It is featured in its entirety, 18 pages of glory! All high quality images are exclusively scanned by Alwyn Greer himself. Whole lotta thanks, man.

Holy crap, how good is this editorial? Bloody fuckin' great, dare I say. It has everything... classy, tasty and even nasty at the same time. Perky (hint hint) too. Worth the price alone to see Anouck and Maria Carla showing off. Darn, I just love her killer pussy! :P
These black & white portraits are brilliant, but what if they were shot in color instead? My pervert soul would die to see those! The only downside is the other model whose name is sounding like "Anus". Ditch her and perfection is reached.

Hold on for a moment before ya goin' crazy. All you need to do is click once at any of the thumbnails below, and you will be taken into a special page where you could download the big pictures. Remember, those who are offended by nudities should abandon the editorial immediately. Losers, they just missed the thrill of a lifetime.

April 23, 2002

The superfantastic Dior ad has finally arrived to this site of mine. The photographer is Nick Knight, if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately, Maria Carla had to share this spring-summer 2002 campaign with another model. Can't recall her name. At leas
t, they didn't get to appear together.... err, or did they?

This Dior handbag advertisement was perfectly scanned from Marie Claire Japon March 2002 (by Takayu, of course), but it also could be seen in several other Japanese magazines. I don't know whether that picture is shown in Japan only or not, because I've only seen two versions so far (one with MCB, one with whoever she is). Easily said, Maria Carla's version beats the hell out of the other one. To state that is not rude, it's a fact!

Still in Dior. A backstage photo from Christian Dior Haute Couture spring-summer 2002 show. Taken by Delphine Kreuter on January 21 this year, and later used on March issue of L'Officiel as a part of "Emotion couleur défilés 2002". The scan was done by Cendres, and it's currently being featured on her Models et Mags website.

Naked?! Yep, MCB did it again and again, and it's even more revealing this time. The editorial is hidden somewhere on my site, but I don't wanna give it a shot right now. I just love to keep you waiting... :)

April 20, 2002

More from Chanel spring-summer 2002 collection. Maria Carla for Chanel Swimwear as found on Elle US May 2002. Meanwhile, The Face April 2002 has two pages of Chanel ad with Maria Carla that I don't have yet. She's wearing ski outfits there, so I am not sure if it's Chanel Swimwear as well. Also, there's at least one version of Chanel Eyewear that is still missing from my site.
This was scanned by Maria of Shatterscans. The links page is slightly updated due to that, and more. Check out who is there... :)

Next are few parts of the Demarchelier-photographed "Artistic License", from the much-raved about issue of Harper's Bazaar US (February 2002). Most people consider this as a masterpiece. I don't.

Maria Carla's solo photo was inspired by "The Green Dress", a painting by Edgar Degas. This ballerina imagery (scan by Zob) is actually the savior of the editorial. Best part, really. However, it doesn't help much because the rest are just plain average and better be forgotten, as witnessed on the horrible trio photo. The idea to fashionably recreate these art paintings is nothing more than creativity bankrupt. You can view all six original works in the end of the editorial. I put an unclickable sample if you care.

April 19, 2002

Punk sucks! "Stil-Szenarien", from Vogue Deutsch (July 2001). The photographer is Christophe Kutner, meanwhile the other models are Rakel Brel, Renske Leunke, Inge Geurts and another unknown. Sorry, never heard of 'em before, and it just goes to show that Maria Carla Boscone is the only good thing about the editorial. Scans courtesy of bwgreyscale.

We are leaving that lame editorial above, for something better on our left side. Another part of Yigal Azrouël spring 2002 advertisement campaign, photographed by Greg Kadel. Of course, the photo was used as the cover of Maria Carla's feature on models.com (click here to read it again), but what we've got here is a different scan. Thanks to Misha for the big picture.

April 12, 2002

Ah, I just love it when Maria Carla is sooo gorgeous like this! The photo could only be found on Juergen Teller's "Go-Sees" book which was published back in '99. Teller photographed a girl or more each day during under a year's period, all located in and around the entrance to his London apartment. Over 460 snapshots are featured in the final product. Sounds interesting. Click here to purchase the book via Amazon.

Actually, I got that 'go-see' picture from Jolie since January this year, but I never found the perfect timing for a showcase... until today, which is Jeisa's 17th birthday! Jeisa? Yeah, she's also one of those 'go-sees' inside the book. Just click here for her "Go Sees" photo. Strangely enough, our next photo is quite similar compared to that calm-looking Jeisa image, although it's not taken from the book.

This editorial came from June-July 2001 issue of Oyster magazine. Not as "Raw" as the title suggests. Photographed by Alessandro Dal Buoni who also took the topless picture of Maria Carla on the following issue (August-September 2001). Scanned by Jolie again.

C'mon over to my Jeisa Chiminazzo site! I've got something huuuge to celebrate her birthday... :)

April 7, 2002

Maria Carla on the cover and main editorial of The Fashion (no.4, which is also billed as the spring-summer 2002 issue). It's entitled "Volum" and photographed by Mikael Jansson. So many thanks to Takayu who once again supplied us with high quality scans.

Meanwhile, I heard that the spring-summer 2002 issue of Arena Homme has an editorial featuring both Maria Carla and Jeisa (I neglected to mention the other models, btw). Portraits by Patrick Demarchelier himself, which means that it must be great. However, I am really unfortunate because I couldn't get a copy of the magazine here. I would like to take this chance to make a request for the scans. Just contact me! I'm begging you please... down on my knees...

April 3, 2002

This is cool! Maria Carla is fooling around on a beach for the very popular Marc campaign, which also features Tasha Tilberg, Natalia Vodianova and Vanessa de Assis. Juergen Teller did a great job with the photography, as always. Taken from the latest issue of V (spring-summer 2002). Special thanks to Jolie for the scan.

Well, there is indeed something familiar in this photo but I couldn't put my finger on it... not until I remembered that Marie-Eve Nadeau was wearing the same outfit on Marc by Marc Jacobs spring-summer 2002 show. Click here to see a photo of Marie-Eve from that show. You can visit my small tribute to this Canadian sensation by clicking on her full name.

Another version of Chanel Accessories spring-summer 2002 advertisement. Scan courtesy of bwgreyscale.

I added some details photos of spring-summer 2002 fashion shows. From now on, all the new photos will be displayed at the bottom of the runway page until the newer ones are coming. Follow that link to view the latest additions, including Gai Mattiolo, Philosophy, Versus from Milan and Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Chanel, Christian Dior, Costume National, Emanuel Ungaro, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Lagerfeld Gallery, Martine Sitbon, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Viktor & Rolf from Paris.

March 31, 2002

Yep, Maria Carla is back on the Mixt(e) cover again. This February-March issue is a special edition devoted to spring-summer 2002 fashion, and it also features our cover girl as a ballerina at "Exercice". An excellent editorial, that is. With thanks to Alwyn who made the scans available for us, let's investigate these images further.

I can hardly see any connection between the cover and the ed, although both were photographed by same person, Frederich Auerbach. Regardless of that, all those images are indeed classics in their own rights. Way to go baby!

There are 19 new pics on the backstage page. All photos were taken around September-October last year, during the spring-summer 2002 fashion shows. Click here to view the most intriguing photo: Maria Carla with a cigarette in her mouth! Ha! She's a smoker!? Too bad... :(

March 24, 2002

Oh my God, this is stunning! Maria Carla Boscone and Marcelle Bittar are "Dressing Up For Spring", just like the title of this editorial from Vogue Nippon April 2002. Photographer Tom Munro had succesfully captured the girls on their finest moments. Still I'm blown away whenever I take a look at these images, cos Maria Carla and Marcelle are looking more beautiful than ever!

It's lovely to see Maria and Marcelle getting together on an editorial, cos it seems that the girls are also best friends in real life (click here and here to see them backstage).
At first, I wasn't expecting such a great editorial, but what did I get? Probably one of the best ever! Of course, nothing would have been possible without Takayu who kindly scanned the images for us. Domo arigato!

Maria Carla is featured on an editorial inside the April 2002 issue of Interview magazine. Previously she appeared on Interview October 2001 on the cover and an editorial, which was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel designer himself. Maria Carla is back with Karl again for the new edition, but she didn't get the cover (it went to actress Jennifer Connelly, btw). Speaking of Chanel, some mags are now showing the new ad for Chanel swimwear with Maria Carla. Now I'm really curious... :)

March 21, 2002

Maria Carla Boscone for Yigal Azrouël spring 2002 campaign, photographed by Greg Kadel. You've seen the photo already (recall The Story So Far) but this one is a scan from an issue of Vogue Paris, done by our good old friend Alwyn Greer. It's only a bonus from him, cos the man actually did far superior cover/editorial scans for us! Just look at the intro image for your preview.

Unfortunately, it seems impossible for me to have all the pics of this campaign (except if someone else is willing to help with the catalogue). Same problem goes to the Spanish-based Sybilla campaign which also features Maria Carla. Anyway, visit Yigal Azrouël's website for a little bit of that girl.

On the others page, there are various runway images from March 2002 issues of Marie Claire, Elle and Vogue (all Brazilian versions), besides another pic of Yigal's.

March 17, 2002

It's Chanel time here. Most people have already seen these images on fashion mags from around the world, so I should immediately feature this campaign before the moment dies.

Here they go. Three images of Maria Carla Boscone for Chanel Accessories, and one image for Chanel Eyewear. Warning! The filesizes are large. Use GetRight if you have a trouble in the downloads. I'd like to thank my friend Misha from AnaClaudia-Michels.com for the scans.

So, are they good enough? Yes, they are very good indeed. Definitely a spring-summer 2002 hit for Maria Carla, along with the Marc campaign which was photographed by Juergen Teller (anybody got the scans for me?). By the way, we are yet to determine who is the photographer of this Chanel campaign. Is it Karl Lagerfeld himself?

The fall-winter 2002/2003 ready to wear fashion weeks had ended and Maria Carla's appearances were even more impressive both in quantity and quality. View those latest runway pics here and here. A big update will follow about six months later.
