Mariacarla Boscono

March 11, 2002

The "Dreamer" editorial is online now in its entirety, not just on the figure in black that's been haunting you in the background. All the images above were scanned by Jolie from Dazed & Confused (December 2001), which was the Comeback issue (no.82). Eric Nehr did a stellar job with the photography.

Normally I would go on trashing haute couture inspired editorials as they tend to deal with the weirdness. Art? Fart maybe. However, this one is done tastefully and it's as classy as you might expect. To call "Dreamer" a masterpiece would never be too much.

I added five photos of Lagerfeld Gallery show to Paris spring-summer 2002 page. I also decided to open a preliminary page for fall-winter 2002/2003. Don't forget to keep an eye on the "Mariacarla in style" feature because it's still updated frequently. Even fresh pics from Paris are already in! For easier use, I have relocated the pics from past seasons to a separate page.

Just for fun. Maria Carla is the current "honey of the week" on Look, It's a Model! I recommend you to take a little time (or more) and have a good time there. I am personally sick'n'tired of the same old shit on another place that I used to be in, and I couldn't say anything more except that this new place is frickin' great. So friendly and much better than... err, you know what I mean... :P

March 3, 2002

From Glamour Italy October 2001 comes this dark editorial. "Sexy. Di Nuovo". Photographed by Satoshi Saikusa. Scans are courtesy of Cendres and originally appeared on her essential Models et Mags site.

I also added eight photos of E-Play show to Milan spring-summer 2002 page and seven photos of Emporio Armani show to the fall-winter 2000/2001 page.

Maria Carla is still in Milan for the new fashion week (fall-winter 2002/2003), which was started on February 24 and will be finished on March 5. Meanwhile the Paris fashion week is scheduled to take place from March 7 to 15. Business as usual.

February 26, 2002

No more teasing... time for the long awaited update! Special thanks to Jolie who kindly scanned these images for me... :)

We're featuring the August/September 2001 edition of Oyster magazine. There are two Maria Carla editorials inside the mag. This one is called "No Assembly Required" and was photographed by Alessandro Dal Buoni. I've been talking about one of the pics for quite a while... hmm, does it really worth the wait? I hope so. It's just a simple photo, but with class all over it. Naturally great!

The other ed on the mag is called "Versace Couture" and was photographed by Roberto D'Este. It's pretty good, but not that special, especially if I compare it to another haute couture editorial that will be featured here soon. Need a preview? Look at the background now!

In case you didn't know, I already added the latest photos of Maria Carla from the New York Fashion Week fall-winter 2002/2003. They could be found on the "Mariacarla in style" feature. The backstage photos are highly recommended. Find the other side of Maria Carla that you've never seen before! Me? Ah, I rarely saw her smirking smile... and I love it! That's why I changed the intro image. There is also a photo of Maria Carla with a guy... ehm, her Italian boyfriend???

February 17, 2002

I still decided to hold the revealing pic back, but here is a couple of other scans from Jolie!

Ah, it's a laid back mood for now. Maria Carla relaxed with the edra sofa. The advertisement was scanned from the September 2000 edition of Wallpaper. Just before she hit the big time! I wasn't fond of the short haired Maria Carla, although she looked younger with this hairdo. It's only a matter of taste, I guess.

This Versus spring-summer 2002 backstage photo is found on UK magazine The Face (December 2001). There are two more Maria Carla photos on this issue, but they're still unavailable here on my site. I have told you once about them. Go to the biography page now to refresh your memory with a little nudity! Also please take your time to re-visit the great "Mariacarla Bellissima!" feature that is included within the page. The pics are no longer missing, by the way.

Maria Carla still looked quite pretty for me although she was acting kinda naughty. However, the horrible creature beside her ruined everything! Who the hell does Omahyra think she is? No, I won't even give a shit about this ugly bitch. Somebody please wake me up from this nightmare...

February 15, 2002

Sorry for being late. I was ill recently therefore I had to postpone the weekly site update. Well, I promised to bring a great picture of Maria Carla showing off her stuffs, but I lied! I'm just kidding. It will be there someday of course, but let's just play a little waiting game.
The fall-winter 2002/2003 fashion weeks have begun and I'm sure that Maria Carla must be very busy at the catwalks these days. So, I thought it would be better to release an update on the runways instead. Can I call it huge?

• The spring-summer 2002 photos page has been finalized for your pleasure. Tons of new photos from those fashion weeks which took place during September-October 2001 are viewable for free now! They're divided into three sections: New York, Milan and Paris.

• I added the haute couture section to the fall-winter 2001/2002 photos page. Plus some more pret-a-porter shots from the same season. Five photos of Gianfranco Ferré show and two photos of Roberto Cavalli show on the Milan section, seven photos of Bernhard Willhelm show and eight photos of Valentino show on the Paris section.

• Don't forget to check out the newly opened backstage section! All photos were taken about one year ago.

Thanks and sorry to firstVIEW for all those photos. I hope they will keep you busy for a while. See ya!

"Pop Culture". The title says it all. A little too colorful for my taste, but still enjoyable.
This editorial was photographed by Alix Malka and the photos appeared on Vogue Australia (November 2001). Model Erin O'Connor is also on the ed, but she doesn't belong here on my site. Scans are courtesy of Alwyn Greer.
Err, everybody could see her tits on the last pic... so what? It's not that special. Put the blame on the weird expression on Maria Carla's face. It kills every good thing within this photo, including the exposed ones. Don't worry, she will show them off again on the next update, on a much better picture of course.

Go to the editorials page for two photos of "Come Black!" (from Deutsch Vogue September 2001). The Aussie reprint of one photo could be seen on previous update. Well, the model on another photo is credited as "unknown" because we can't hardly see her face at all (it only shows the chest area). However, I guess that she's MCB herself. As a side note, this ed also has two Marina Dias pics and another two of Audrey Tchekova. It would be unfair if there's only one pic of Maria Carla, so those unknown breasts might belong to MCB as well... who knows?

I also added two photos from the recent Chanel Haute Couture show. Both photos are available through the various spring-summer 2002 page.

January 26, 2002

Bang bang! It seems that Maria Carla's bangs are all over the place now. Have a look for yourself, at these short editorials. Before we go any further, let me thank Jolie who scanned them for me a while ago.
Hold on, we're going from right to left this time. OK, let the madness begin:

- An editorial called "Black Beauty" from January 2002 issue of Australian Vogue. It was photographed by Eric Traore and originally appeared on the September 2001 issue of Deutsch Vogue by the title "Come Black!". By the way, there's a great Maria Carla editorial from that particular issue of Deutsch Vogue, called "Lady Punk". I'm still looking for the good scans of the ed, so please drop me an e-mail if you could help me.

- Another reprint. "Shorn To Be Wild", from Vogue Australia (September 2001). The photographer is Walter Chin, and the same photograph appeared on an US edition of Allure. Hmm, I never realized that Maria Carla's hair resembles that of Chrissie Hynde, until I saw this. Thankfully, Maria Carla doesn't look ugly like Hynde at all. Hey, don't get me wrong... I used to listen a lot to the Pretenders few years back. My favorite tune from the band? Easily said, "Don't Get Me Wrong"!

- From Details (August 2001), comes the black & white "Italian Classics". Photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg (huh, he really likes working with Maria Carla, doesn't he?). Ah, if only I could dump the other model (Carmen Kruezer, whose bangs seem fake to me) and replace her with my little Jeisa... it would be killer! Brazilian girl Jeisa actually has an Italian origin, and she's got a funky hairdo like Maria Carla too! Imagine two youthful looking girls with bangs... :)

The Haute Couture Fashion Week (spring-summer 2002) in Paris had just ended, and needless to say, Maria Carla was there too. She catwalked for Valentino, Givenchy, Gaultier, Dior, Balmain, Feraud, Chanel, Lacroix, but most of all, the grand finale of Yves Saint Laurent's career. Why don't we check out her latest looks on those shows, along with other photos from recent seasons? Click the pic now for those stylish moments with Mariacarla...

No, this is not the long awaited "runway madness". Stay tuned for that one. You can also catch this special showcase later through the runways page, of course. Don't forget to move your mouse over any preferred image for the designer's name.

January 21, 2002

Some backstage photos scanned by Jolie from various magazines. From left to right:
- Maria Carla at the Imitation of Christ spring-summer 2002 show in New York (from Vogue Australia January 2002). It's not the backstage, actually.
- Maria Carla with Erin Wasson and Malin Persson backstage at Emanuel Ungaro Haute Couture fall-winter 2001/2002 show (from Harper's Bazaar Australia September 2001).
- Two pics of Maria Carla at the backstage of Chanel Haute Couture fall-winter 2001/2002 show (from Deutsch Vogue September 2001).
It's only a partial update. The remaining parts should follow anytime soon.

January 16, 2002

Here I go again. This time around, I've got some Maria Carla images from various issues of Vogue Italia. As I've said before, all these high quality scans are courtesy of Alwyn Greer... thanks a lot for sending them to me!

Let's kick things off with three photos of Roberto Cavalli advertisement which appear on Vogue Italia June 2001. Maria Carla Boscone and Danita Angell were the chosen ones for the spring-summer 2001 campaign.
Funny enough, my memory goes all the way back to the infamous runway 'accidents' which happened to Maria Carla on Roberto Cavalli spring-summer 2001 show. Hey, don't just take my words, you've gotta click here and here for those naughty moments... :)

We're moving on to the editorials. The first editorial, "Beyond The Image", is taken from Vogue Italia August 2001 and was photographed by Thomas Schenk. The models featured on the ed are Maria Carla Boscone, Marcelle Bittar, Fannie Bostrum, Abby, Amanda and Kae. A relatively dull line-up with few exception. I actually already have this editorial on my site but I decided to use Alwyn's version instead because it's definitely much better than the old scans.

The second editorial is called "Non Traditional Classics", photographed by Steven Klein for Vogue Italia September 2001. Once again, it also has some other models but the line-up is pretty decent: Maria Carla Boscone, Anouck Lepere, Jacquetta Wheeler, An Oost and Natasha Vojnovic. Personally, I like Anouck's part better (check it out here), but it's still nice to see Maria Carla in a darker look such as this.

January 8, 2002

Welcome to the darkness, my friend... ha ha ha, I'm just kidding. I've just finalized the look of the site, after making some changes little by little. As always, I believe that simplicity is the best, so please don't expect a technically modern design yet (maybe next time). All I hope is that my site is looking classy enough now.

Some of you might have noticed that the look is even more similar to that of my Jeisa Chiminazzo site. Sure, it's somewhat inspired by the Jeisa site (naturally, since I'm the webmaster... :P), and I also took influence from the Anouck Lepere official site. Speaking of which, I've got some scans sent by Anouck's webmaster Alwyn Greer. You can view the first two pictures, Paul & Joe fall 2001 advertisement, now. Expect to see the rest later.

As you can see on the menu above, I have opened a guestbook for signing and viewing. There is only one rule: be polite. I don't have a plan to open a forum yet, due to a not-so-nice experience which happened to me recently.

This should've been the first update for 2002, because the previous one was actually written in late 2001 but uploaded on the first day of the new year. What more can I say? Happy new year to you all!

January 1, 2002

United nations? Ugh, I am not here to answer that useless question. Anyway, I'm sure you already recognize this editorial from December 2001 issue of Harper's Bazaar US. It's called "Imagine" (photographed by Patrick Demarchelier) and this is the second part of the ed. From left to right: Liya Kebede, Anouck Lepere, Madelaine Hjort, Sharon Ganish, Marcelle Bittar, Rohini Tiwari, Maggie Rizzer, Maria Carla Boscone, Mini Anden. Meanwhile the first part features Anne Vyalitsyna, Natasha Vojnovic, Liliana Dominguez, Kae Iwakawa, Aline Nakashima, Audrey Marnay, Stella Tennant, Carmen Kass, Alek Wek and Karolina Kurkova.

Scan courtesy of Alwyn Greer (it's originally appeared on the official site of Anouck Lepere). With respect due to the other models (especially Anouck... :P), just click on the other image if Maria Carla is the only one you love!

I have just updated the info about the "Free Form" editorial. The pics are already available on the site for a long time, but I guess there's nothing wrong to re-feature the editorial here. The images were scanned from Vogue Japan June 2001 by Takayu (the man behind the great Wind From Far East), and contrary to what I previously thought, these four images are the only ones to feature Maria Carla. For your information, the other models on the ed are Zoe Hawkins, Jacquetta Wheeler, Michelle Ferrara and Amanda Moore. All photographs by Max Vadukul.

December 28, 2001

It's a little too late to feature this on my site, but well, it's finally here at last/least. Thanks to Katya for the scans, of course. From the October 2001 issue of Interview magazine... Maria Carla is on the cover of the mag and also on the main editorial, "Untamed Fire". All photos by Karl Lagerfeld, the Chanel designer himself.

I am not too sure if I could call it a 'controversial' one, but we've gotta get used to it anyway, considering that it's a haute couture inspired editorial. However, I would rate these crazy images better than the awful L'Oreal 2001 calendar by Aldo and Monica Coppola. I've seen the 'making of' video of the calendar, which unfortunately was also the first time I saw Maria Carla nude... :P (in a similar way to this editorial).

I've made a listing of Maria Carla's works, including the magazines (editorials, covers, etc) and the advertisements (campaigns, catalogues, etc). Click here to view the incomplete list. Feel free to contact me if you have anything to correct or add, ok?

Hmm, this would be the last site update for the year 2001. I'll be seeing you again in 2002. Happy new year!

December 24, 2001

Time has come for Maria Carla to be the cover girl of MODELS.com! She is the featured model on the latest issue (no. 30). Oh yeah, I just love to view her showcase, "Maria Carla Bellissima!", cos it makes me feels like in love again... :) Click on the image to the left and I hope you'll feel the same way too after reading the article.
With apologies to MDC, I decided to use Maria Carla's own story to replace the poor bio that I wrote myself. From now on, this article will always be available through the biography page. Hmm, there's something 'skinny' on the bio page... :P Go there to see it for yourself.

I would like to thank LuMon of Modelito for making me aware of that Maria Carla news, and also for scanning this image: Just Cavalli spring-summer 2001 advertisement.

Maria Carla could be seen on Spur Nippon January 2002. This fashion magazine is issued in Japan only so it could be a hard one to get. However, she is only appearing on the hair & makeup section (not on the cover or any editorial inside)... I'm not too sure if it's worth the price alone, but hell, what do I know cos I haven't seen it myself, LOL. Maybe someone could help me with the scan, please?

Hmm, now I'm even more confused than before. Anyone knows which one is right: Maria Carla Boscone or Maria Carla Boscono??? Please tell me...

Here's an excerpt of a discussion on one of models.com forums regarding the interview:
One user on the Industry forum said: "if i am not mistaken. maria carla was with boss models in 97-98..her 'story' was a bit innaccurate" and then Wayne Sterling replied, "Through no fault of hers. I am frankly not shy about paring down the profiles to what a good writer once defined as 'the essential oils'. Mariacarla was very forthcoming about her early modeling efforts in our original interview, especially in those tentative first efforts where she was signed with her Milan agency, who then placed her on the Boss board as her NY representation. At the time Mariacarla was still a full-time student, who would as she states in the interview, do the Milan shows during school breaks. Though her card would surface at NY agencies (after a split second at Boss she was switched to IMG), she was never available for bookings in NY. Until she graduated from high school, started modelling full time and then joined DNA when she moved to NY. As is my standard practice in writing this stuff, I simply gave credit to the agency most responsible for getting the model to her current heights. Hope that clarifies the scenario."

December 21, 2001

Maria Carla bares it all!!! Yeah, we already knew that Maria is the kinda girl who doesn't mind showing off her body into the eyes of the world. However, I can't help but get shocked when I saw her nude on the December 2001 issue of UK magazine The Face. Oh my God, I'm lost for words... I don't have the pics but I'll try to get my own copy of that mag so I could do the scans myself. In the meantime, you can see the editorial for yourself on My Fascination (go to this page now!). Jim has an excellent Maria Carla Boscone gallery there, featuring 6 editorials so far. Keep up the good work, man.

Vote for Maria Carla now! There is a voting poll on the respected models website Modelito, about the top 10 new faces of 2001. Please go to this page and make a vote for the lovely Maria Carla (from December 17th to January 7th). I'm not happy at all with the result, so I'm begging everyone to be there and get her to the top, ok? Thanks for supporting Maria Carla... :)

I also encourage you to visit Top 20 Young Fashion Models and make yet another vote for our Maria Carla Boscone there. She's currently #6 on the chart. It's a bit frustrating cos none of the names above her is worth-voting, with an exception goes to the wonderful Isabeli Bergossi Fontana. So, do yourself a favour, visit the site and vote for Maria Carla again (and again). Indeed, it'll be great if you could make one vote each day... :)

I've updated the links page. The biography is also slightly rewritten as well. Until then, I'll see you on the other side...

December 8, 2001

Well, this is just one of many editorials that Maria Carla did recently. The photos were taken by Eric Nehr for the November issue of Numéro. Maria looks fine, but I still can't stand to see her with a bad hair like that. Anyway, the scans were done by Alwyn Greer (he of Anouck-Lepere.com), with additional thanks to Ana. I also relocated some photos from an older issue of Numéro into the editorials page. They were previously found on the others page.

Check out two photos from Kenzo show on the various spring-summer 2002 runways page. Meanwhile, some photos from Bruce spring-summer 2001 show are now viewable through this page.

November 24, 2001

First of all, you'll easily notice that I have slightly redesigned this page. OK, I know that it's too similar to the one at my Jeisa site... but, what the hell, I just love it this way! Expect more updates in the near future...

Let's get it on! For those of you who haven't had a chance to hear Maria Carla's voice, I've got a real treat for ya. Yes, here is a video interview with the polo loving girl herself, backstage in Milan. Just click on the image to watch the video. Remember, first you'll need to have the latest version of Real Player installed on your computer. Of course, she is talking in Italian, and although I couldn't speak that language, I can tell you that she's got a typical Italian voice. It's a lovely one, by the way... :)

One catwalk pic of Enrico Coveri show is added to part one of Milan fall-winter 2001/2002 fashion week page. You can look at it here and now.

Most of you already know that Maria Carla is riding high for the spring-summer 2002 campaign castings. She will be on the campaign of Dior (with another model said to be Gisele, huh, why not Jeisa?), under guidance of photographer Nick Knight. She's also on Chanel Sport and Marc by Marc Jacobs (along with two other models, Natalia Vodianova and Vanessa de Assis) ads. The latter was said to be photographed by the famed one Juergen Teller. Congratulations!

Here are some of her latest magazine appearances (no scans yet):
- Russian Vogue November 2001: She's on an editorial called "Ispugannaya Nimfa" with model Vanessa Castillejio. Photos taken by Blaise Reutersward on a forest.
- W December 2001: Hippie-looking "Global Vision" editorial, by Michael Thompson. Other models are Liliana Dominguez, Vivien Solari and Valerie Sipp.
- Harper's Bazaar US December 2001: Four pages of "Imagine... a world that lives as one..." photographed by Patrick Demarchelier of models in two groups wearing clothes that represent the nations they call home. Anne, Natasha, Liliana, Kae, Aline, Audrey, Stella, Carmen, Alek, and Karolina are all featured in the first group and two pages. Liya, Anouck, Madeline, Sharon, Marcelle, Rohini, Maggie, Mariacarla, and Mini are in the second group.

November 19, 2001

I've added some more photos from the recent fashion weeks (ready-to-wear spring-summer 2002), clockwise from top-left: Chanel, Christian Dior, Costume National, Stella McCartney, Roberto Cavalli and Jean Paul Gaultier. There are two photos for each designer. These photos are archived on the various section of the season.

Also check out three photos from from Romeo Gigli spring-summer 2000 show on the early years page.

On the editorials page, we have the photo of "Beyond The Image" editorial which appeared on Vogue Italia (August 2001). Maria Carla is featured amongst with other models, including her friend Marcelle Bittar.

Also new on the page is the "Milan Backstage" editorial from Elle UK (March 2001). It's a reprint from Elle Italia (February 2001). I have it already. Maria Carla at the backstage of Iceberg spring-summer 2001 show, in Milan, of course.

October 26, 2001

The spring-summer 2002 fashion weeks is over now, at least for Maria, who is catwalking mainly in New York, Milan and Paris. We're so happy to report that these events were another success for her! She did the shows for top designers of the world, such as Chanel, Versus, Dior, Valentino, etc. Therefore we decided to open a preliminary photos page for this season. Just click here to view her latest looks.

Maria Carla is on this month's issue of Paris own L'Officiel magazine. As you can see, she is on the cover and also on an editorial inside. The photographer is Nicholas Hidiroglou. Special thanks to Cendres who scanned the images for me.

October 1, 2001

Sorry for the lack of updates! I've been very busy with the Jeisa site lately therefore I was unable to update the Maria Carla site. However, I had spent some time working on the new design for this site. It's looking much better now!

The highlight for this update is the September 2001 edition of Vogue Russia. Maria Carla is our cover girl, and naturally she also did an editorial inside the magazine. It's called "Nazad v budushee" (could be translated as "Back to the future"). All photographs by Lee Jenkins. I'd like to thank Olga for scanning these images for the site.

Don't forget to browse through the runways page because I have so many new pics there... I mean, too many pics that I couldn't show them all here. Go to that page instead, and choose your preferred season.

September 2, 2001

Ah, today is Maria Carla's birthday. She is twenty-one years old now. I am a bit surprised cos I always thought that she was born in 1982. Anyway, it's also a perfect day to release this site. It's still relatively small, but I'm proud because this is the first site dedicated to the one and only Maria Carla Boscone. OK, you could start looking on every page of the site. Feel free to contact me if you have a trouble with it, or you want to make a contribution, or you just wanna talk to me about the girl, or whatever...
